I debated getting this puzzle vs. others of the US since this one doesn't have individual pieces for each state. I ended up choosing this one b/c the graphics are better and I thought it might be easier for a 3-year old to do solo. Turns out to have been a good choice. My daughter enjoys putting it together and can easily do it on her own...just enough challenge to hold her interest without getting frustrated. As she puts it together, we talk about where we live and who we know that live in each of the other states and how close or far away that is from us. It's really not necessary to have 50 individual state pieces to learn the names and shapes of each state. And the packaging is great for storing b/c it stands up...young children can easily retrieve and open on their own. In all, it's a nice little educational toy. My 3 year old son loves this puzzle! The puzzle pieces are big and made out of a thick cardboard material. The pictures are glossy and crisp. We were able to pull out all the puzzle pieces and put it together on our dinning room table with no problem. My son is able to do this puzzle all by himself and he has asked to do the puzzle almost every day since we got it. My son loves that this puzzle has 2 of his favorite things: construction and dogs. The box it came in looked like the first (top) picture. It has a big picture of what the finished puzzle is supposed to look like on the front and a smaller picture on the back. It also comes with a string you can use to carry it around. I wanted to give this 5 stars, but ended up docking a star due to the picture on the front of the box. We are trying to teach our son to use the picture on the box to identify the puzzle pieces. However, the front of the box has text boxes that cover the picture, so it makes it hard for him to figure out what piece matches where on the picture if it's a part that is covered on the top right or bottom middle portion. We ended up using the tiny little picture on the back of the box instead. But other than that, it keeps my son interested! ... show more

My 2yo LOVES this puzzle. Well worth the price. It’s educational, pretty, and sturdy. She walks on the pieces 🤦🏻♀️ and they don’t bend. Some puzzles from this brand have irregular piece shapes but this one is all standard piece shapes. We love both kinds. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase!

Great puzzle. My 4 year old grandson and I did this a few times. Loved that it showcases animals in the continents . So much learning and fun. He redoes it on his own and his younger sister loves to point to the animals . We also have US states by same manufacturer. Don’t hesitate to buy .
