    • Great idea, needs some improvement.

I've used a french press at home for many years and so thought this was a fantastic idea for an add-on to a fantastic boiling water stove. Here are my issues: - You can't easily store this in the pot along with the stove and fuel bottle. - Using a rubber gasket rather than a metal one (like in most presses) means it is difficult to push the plunger down - too much friction. Same with pulling it out. That friction increases the chance that you will eventually get burned by splashing the coffee accidentally. - The post isn't long enough for the press to reach the bottom of the pot. - There needs to be a replacement lid that has a pouring spout - using the existing stove lid means you need to slide it out of the way when pouring coffee, providing an easy opportunity to get burned. MSR needs a lid with a flip-up pouring spout, essentially. - $20 for this is being a bit greedy. If they fixed these issues and included a replacement lid, then I'd be ok with the $20. On the upside, it does work, but this isn't rocket science. I still love the stove. ... show more

This thing works, but it takes some practice and is far from perfect. There is no easy way to store it if you are also putting a gas can in your pot (And dont we all do that?) Also I found the grounds have to be a little courser than my standard french press grind to accommodate the mesh filter. But all that would be forgivable if this thing was about half its price and came with a storage pouch. It does get the job done with a little work and makes some fast delicious coffee. I'm not sure what I was expecting... but when I got it I thought to myself, dang I payed that much for this, and where am i gonna pack it? And still when I use it I look at it and think man, with a few improvements this could have been the perfect solution. ... show more

Sweet little press for the MSR stove. Course ground coffee would cut way down on grounds sneaking through. But how hard is it to toss the last 5% of cup;) Fits very nicely inside of stove

Its a little pricey for what it is, but it is MSR and you can be guaranteed of its quality. best for course ground grinds in works in my small MSR reactor stove perfectly!

Size: 1.0-Liter
"1L" and "1.0L" listings are not equivalent. The one listed as "1.0L" ONLY WORKS WITH REACTOR stove. If you have a Windburner stove (like myself) then you need to buy the "1L" listing.

Worked like a charm. I have used various presses with other canister stoves and thus far this has proven the best for coffee, period, hands down. Then again, what would you expect from MSR but the very best in accessories matching its products?
