I have all kinds of devices for making cold brew, and the top things that aren't my favorite is the cleanup, and the amount of coffee needed if I want to have cold brew on the ready. This Mr.Coffee Express Cold Brew Coffee Maker looked interesting and definitely like something I could take on the go! With this set, you receive a carafe, grounds holder, ice holder, motor, and USB-A to USB-C charging cable. Most pieces of this coffee maker, are made of a harder, sturdy plastic and each piece that attaches to another, has a solid o-ring for a tight seal. If you were wondering, the device basically uses a vacuum to pull water up from the carafe and up and down through the grounds and ice, over the course of 10 minutes. Don't worry! there are two metal sensor pins in the top of the device to stop the water from flowing upwards into the motor, and moves it back down through it's cycle. In addition, the coffee cylinder can fit up to 3 tbsp of grounds, and the sound is no louder than 53 dB. Moving on, I charged the motorhead/top of the machine fairly quickly, and you're able to get around 15 uses out of the machine without having to recharge it. The only thing I'm concerned with this is tightening it too hard, with the potential of causing hairline cracks. I did quite the opposite on my first run, and didn't tighten the bottom of the carafe enough so when I started to run it, water started seeping out of the bottom. Luckily I caught it in time and was able to stop it right away to tighten it up a bit more. Of course, I realized I tightened up the ice and grounds carafe too loosely as well, as bubbles were moderately running as the device was pulling water up through the ice, and it was too late to stop the process so I just let the machine do it's thing. Upon further inspecting the cylinders, I noticed there is in fact a little lock icon on the cylinders that lines up to let you know it's tight enough. Thankfully, I still ended up with a tasty cup of coffee and the only loose grounds were pulled through the ice. This made two cups for me and my husband, which is normally 3 for most people. Thankfully I worked out the little kinks and shortfalls on my part, and now I am able to make a successful cup of cold brew. This machine makes a pretty decent cup where you will taste notes of your regular coffee, you may have never tasted before. Granted it's not the depth of an overnight cold brew, it's still pretty smooth, not bitter (depending on the coffee) and convenient on the go. I can easily see myself bringing this in my car on those longer days out and about, on road trips and to hotels. The only thing I'd really have to stop for is ice and water! ... show more

This is so easy to use! I charged it up and made cold brew using Dunkin Decaf. I'll also make regular but was wanting this later in the day. The coffee is delicious and pleasantly clear!

We got this cold brew coffee maker in and tried it out. We watched the video attached to the listing to make sure we were using it right. We assembled it and turned it on. My daughter noted that it sounds like an angry bee. lol. It works like other cold brew makers by sucking the water through the grounds and into the ice at the top then back down. I have not had a maker that needed ice but adding it is easy so it's not a big deal for us. The design is compact. There are several pieces to this thing but they all fit back into the main unit for storage. It takes up a LOT less space than the Cuisinart cold brew maker that we already have. There are no settings, however. You get stronger coffee by adding more grounds or using a bold roast. Other cold brew machines I have seen have options for brewing longer and getting stronger coffee. The machine took less than 10 minutes and would be great for when you forget to make your CB the night before. You could set it and get in the shower and it's done when you get out. That can save you at least $5 a day so you don't have to stop somewhere to get your morning coffee. It would also be great for the office. Take it to the break room and make your CB during your break. It's nice and compact and not too loud. Our taste test wasn't exactly scientific because we make some traditional cold brew and this one. The traditional was peppermint mocha and this one was french vanilla. Using different flavors makes it hard to compare the flavor because of the process but we enjoyed the taste test, anyway. The coffee was great. We added caramel creamer to the coffee and it had a strong coffee flavor but wasn't bitter. We used peppermint mocha creamer in the peppermint mocha CB and they were both great cups of coffee. This machine rivals the traditional cold brew in strength and flavor. It's a keeper. I think the traditional method wins but this is a great option for a quicker cup. The only thing is that it holds 13 ounces of coffee. That's plenty for normal people, but I tend to drink a LOT of coffee and would need to run the machine several times to get the coffee fix for the day. Overall, it's a great machine and would be a great gift for any CB lover or anyone who wants to try it out. It's also easy to clean and reassemble for storage. 10/10 ... show more
