This was a very fun set to build, and took quite a while. It was my largest set at 3600+ pieces. I'd say it probably took at least 20-25 hours to build. The set itself if quite detailed, sometimes overly so because you won't see those areas again when it's fully built. Some parts are quite fragile, and I would recommend gluing them if you want to avoid a headache. This one doesn't have stickers like Queen Anne's Revenge or the Black Pearl that I've also bought from Mould King, which was in my opinion nice because I'm terrible at stickers. The manual is exactly the quality of a LEGO one, although it takes a little getting used to the different shades of browns, since there are quite a few that are similar. ... show more

This kit has great detail and enough pieces to keep you busy for days. The price of this kit vs the Lego brand pirate ship is negligible, but the model dwarfs the Lego kit. It makes for a great display when completed.

It has been fun to assemble I had no missing pieces while some parts are delicate give yourself time and patience around them and it is no longer a problem I recommend this and plan on buying more from mould king

As far as value for peice count you can't beat it. This was my first time buying mould king but have got a bunch of lego brand. The peice quality is about the same but the building techniques make this peice more fragile. I wish I had listened to the reviews and used some glue on the finishing details. All in all I'm extremely satisfied though. It was definitely worth the money. Oh also this is definitely not a beginner set. You also have to look way more closely at the instructions than you do lego. That's about it though. ... show more

This was a well built, very involved kit. I did use crazy glue to secure the rigging, but otherwise , the bricks went together well. The tricky part was the front , it was hard to keep it from falling apart -but eventually it stayed together. It was a good experience overall and I’m pleased with the final outcome! ... show more

This is so very well detailed and designed. I was surprised by how much detail is in this build and, although it’s not meant to be taken apart and seen after completing the build, there is even a captains cabin with the organ from the film. Some parts, like the sails and front section, are flimsy so I would be very careful when moving this around. As a shelf piece, though, it is a 10/10. If you’re worried about these pieces being flimsy or cheap compared to LEGO, don’t be. I can tell they are different by touch but not in a bad way. These pieces won’t break on you and they look just as good as LEGO. There were two missing pieces. They were small though and I would not worry about missing pieces at all. This is a pretty intense build. I would recommend it for people who know what they are doing when it comes to building big sets like these. The instructions, though, are very clear. As long as you take a second every now and then to make sure everything’s in the right place as you build, you’ll be fine. You should definitely put the sails and rigging together in a good mood because it requires patience. If you want a Flying Dutchman build this is the one for you. ... show more
