My review of the Motorola edge 2022 goes like this,...I had a Motorola 2021 stylus it fell to the ground and was shattered it it was still sort of functional but would go haywire all the time so I finally decided after a ton of research to get this Motorola 2022 edge. This phone which works flawlessly with Metro by T-Mobile it's my favorite phone I've ever had, I could never afford the $1,000 to $1,500 phones and I wanted a really good phone that did just about everything, was reasonably fast and took decent pictures. After seeing how a lot of people didn't like this phone for photos or video I was skeptical about the camera aspect of this phone, but buying this brand new for $149 directly from Amazon was too good to pass up. The day it arrived I hooked this phone up with Metro by T-Mobile and 1st it immediately updated the camera then several security updates then it went to automatically update Android 12 to Android 13 and then another camera update and one more security update wow that was fantastic and the difference in the camera stability and video quality was phenomenal!!!!!!!! The OIS on this camera makes the video float so to speak it's not shaky whatsoever, just make sure the OIS is on and also OIS does not functional when the phone is in battery saver mode. The video quality is very very smooth flagship quality - almost pixel quality!! The stereo speakers are very loud with nice clean punchy bass, nice mid-range and nice clear top end, miles above my previous Motorola stylus speakers. The Vivid OLED screen is extremely bright and I could see it directly in the bright sun including on the day of the eclipse!...and if you're outside on an extremely sunny day just put the phone and adaptive brightness mode and your screen will become even more extra bright out in the sun. This Edge 2022 phone is very fast at everything it does and super super smooth I've had no trouble with the 5G, and it's is so much faster with downloading and uploading and processing and gaming!! The sound quality is great I can hear calls so loud on this phone I have to turn the volume down compared to my old Motorola stylus.... this phone is truly in a flagship type of lane! I love it that's all I can say, and for $149 for an original phone that was listed for $699 thank you thank you thank you Amazon I love you love you love you!!! I was looking for a phone or tablet to use with my DJI Mini 2 drone. The remote control with the Mini 2 requires the use of an Android or Apple smart phone or tablet since the remote control doesn't have it's own display and the phone or tablet serve as the display. There are lots of phones you can use for this purpose, but you need something with a very bright display. I have an iPhone 11 Pro as my primary phone and when flying in bright sunlight, the display dims to prevent the phone from overheating. It gets so dim that it is almost unusable for this purpose. I was looking for a new or used phone or tablet with a very bright display. So far, this phone seems to work very well and the display is bright enough to view in direct sunlight. I believe it is capable of 1300 nits under certain circumstances, but that may be while playing HDR content. The Google Pixel phones are great, as are the Samsungs, but the Pixel's screens don't get this bright and Samsung models that do have bright screens are much more expensive. I've used my sim card from my iPhone to make calls (AT&T) and I think the Motorola Edge 2022 actually sounds better than the 11 Pro. I have tested Wi-Fi speeds and the Edge 2022 is consistantly 10% to 15% faster than the 11 Pro. I've seen complaints about the camera quality but the photos, especially macro photos, look as good or better than the 11 Pro. If my entire family didn''t use iPhones, I think I would actually start using the Edge 2022 as my primary phone as it is much easier to see with the larger screen. Considering all of the features you get with this phone, I think the price is probably impossible to beat. I have only had the phone for a week, but I am extremely happy with my purchase which was less than $250.00. Would I prefer a better IP dust and water resistant rating and more premium materials? Of course, but you can't have everything at this price point. Is it a good deal at $500.00? Probably not a great deal, but at $250.00 it is an absolute bargain and a fine phone. I realize that there are a few negative reviews and I'm sure it's possible to get a dud every once in a while, but some of the reviews seem to be issues not with the phone itself, but due to receiving the wrong phone or a problem with the ordering process. I don't doubt that those problems exist, but I would prefer that reviews of a product, focus on the quality of the actual product and not so much with the process. This is just my opinion. I hope this helps someone else who is on the fence about buying this phone. If you can get it for $250.00, it's an absolute steal! Knowing everything I know now, I would purchase another one if needed and would recommend it to family or friends if they needed a good phone with at great display at a great price. ... show more

Motorola makes probably the best phones you can get for the price. It's a great phone, but the curved edge makes it easier to damage (I'm taking a star off for that). But they are beautiful, bright slim phones with great battery life. Plus, some essential Motorola features like the shake-on flashlight. The main thing I don't like about them is that the front camera takes up screen area... and it's right where my game has an essential stat. The other thing, is that sometimes it doesn't recognize my fingerprint, but that's probably no worse than other phones. The feature I'd like to see is the ability to set the battery to only charge up to 80% so I don't have to watch it (extends battery health life). ... show more
