  • This is a versatile beautiful sounding lush reverb.
Color: R7 Reverb
The MOOER R7 is a great value for the money. A micro pedal containing 7 different reverb models with versatility and tweakability ranging from a simple room ambiance of a mic a few inches from an amp to Lush atmospheric modulated singing cavernous reverb. It passes signal very well and is able to accept a decent amount of boost or overdrive going through it without squashing and peaking out. The original input signal appears to be pure and unmolested adding reverb to the dry signal when the level knob is increased. All 7 of the reverb models are adjustable by 5 perimeters and savable as patches. Even when unplugged the unit goes directly to the last used model when powered up again. I found the LC and HC EQ knobs are very useful when creating large lush atmospheres as they allow the tails to be very large and full without the bass stacking up and overwhelming the original signal. The spring reverb model is also MUCH better than many pedals in this price point, if the pre-delay knob is set to 1/2 or more it will give a boing/drip. Overall this is a nice low noise, highly useful and versatile reverb pedal with saveable presets and high quality impulse models. ... show more

  • The LFO ruins it
Color: E7 Synth
First and foremost, this is a good pedal. Its a lot of fun, opened up my creativity, and I can get a lot of nice sounds. For a $100 synth pedal, this is a fair deal. I love the arpeggiating switch for each of the seven sounds. The color and style is great. If you are into experimenting and appreciate 70s/80's synth music, you will like this. But theres a huge problem that makes 3 of the 7 synths (sounds 3, 4, 5) for me hard to work with and its the LFO effect. You hear more of an LFO effect than the synth sound itself and you pick this up after 15-30 seconds of playing it. Its annoying. I can't play this in front of other people. It's that bad. It's just a huge "SCHWEEEOOOOEEEEEOOOOSCHWEEEOOOOEEEEEOOOO" sound placed on top of a subtle synth sound and its WAAAAAY too distracting. The LFO effect is completely unnecessary and if I wanted that, I could have just added a flanger/phaser pedal seperately at the end of the mix. The LFO sound is so dominant I can barely hear the actual sound of the synth unless i turn down speed to 0, and even so, its very dominant, just slower. I can't really see it be used in a recording setting, as the speeds can mess around with the tempos you want to record in. This is embarrassingly bad, and I'm surprised its not brought up much in other reviews. Quite frankly, this is enough to kill the pedal, and I'm very surprised that this passed QA and everyone at Mooer thought this was acceptable. I thought that since there is a USB port, there had to be patches to somehow fix this, but so far nothing. I'm not even sure if it would be possible. But whatever, 4/7 is not so bad! Other problems? Sometimes the pedal kills the signal of my rig, and I'd have to unplug it and replug to get it working again, but at least the bypass works. Additionally, there's sudden jumps in volumes and pops that which may require additional compression and EQing to make it sound better. The only other synth like pedal I had was the Korg miku pedal, and I never had that type of issue with popping sounds, so I can't really blame the technology. I assume this a first for Mooer, so I won't be that harsh about it, but I don't think the pedal went through a fair QA process. But its a $100 synth pedal, so cool. ... show more

  • Small and full of Options
Color: R7 Reverb
I was looking for a small form factor pedal to use with my effects loop. I have a quilter overdrive 200 that does not have reverb. What i like is there are several different reverb types and that each can be programmed and saved to recall later. The pedal is small, like a wave of pedals that have come out lately, this does not mean that they are not good, in fact, they are great. The latest tech virtually assures that we can shrink anything to a size that is not only easier to lug around, but still very good. This is due to electronics shrinking anyway and circuit boards that have multilayer PCB. The sounds are pretty good right out of the box, I tweaked a few to my tastes. The reverbs you can get are from very useable to over the top, if you wanted to program that far out of the norm. You get seven distinct reverbs, and the light on the side indicates your choice. You cant exactly change reverbs with your feet but you can simply bend down and change it. If you wanted to mount on your stand you could change easily. I just one reverb ( I like the spring best, then the plate ). All in all the product does what it advertises and is a good solidly built pedal. I have nothing bad to say, I do wish you could choose different reverbs on the fly with your feet, but its easy to work with. CJWII ... show more

  • GREAT reverb pedal with a few minor issues
Color: A7 Ambiance
Mooer's newest addition to their micro pedal line. The A7 Ambience is one of the better reverb pedals I've owned. Beautiful reverb sounds that absolutely hang with the Strymon Blue Sky and Big Sky I used to own. The modulation is beautiful and similar to the Boss RV-5, and you can get huge reverbs with tons of decay if wanted. Good things aisde, there are a few issues with this pedal that they need to address. Luckily it comes with a USB port for future firmware upgrades. Below I outline some of the first updates that -need- to happen to make this pedal more usable. A few caveats: There is a volume drop once you go above 50% on the Mix control which makes getting a more prominent reverb sound hard if you want your levels to remain the same. They need to make sure the dry signal volume stays even until you go fully wet. The Infinite hold feature is cool, you just step on the footswitch and the reverb continues to trail, but there's two issues with this feature. First is that the volume of the Infinite hold is too low, you can barely hear it. It needs to be louder. Also there is a beeping sound that seems to pulse in rhythm with the LED (which flashes when you hold the footswitch down) when using the Infinite hold feature, it's annoying. I have emailed Mooer about these issues and hopefully they will be addressed soon. ... show more
