Versatile, but with a few drawbacks and some workarounds
Size: 300g
Color: White
I've been using this foam clay for a cosplay for about a month or so now. It's definitely lightweight, very moldable, and can be easy to work with if you know what you're doing. Depending on how thick your piece is, it can take a while for it to dry too. Here are the pros and cons I've found so far:
Pros: - Becomes more lightweight when dry - Can add a little water when it starts to dry out to make it more pliable - Easily sandable - Easy to work with - Takes molds pretty well - put your clay in your mold and stick it in the freezer for at least few hours. Take it out and immediately pop it out of your mold, and leave it to dry Cons (with some workarounds): - Brittle when fully dry - your piece will likely break if you try to flex it too much, and it doesn't really have the same flexibility as EVA foam does. I've found brushing at least couple of coats of Flexbond will help make it flex when it's dry. (White school glue may also be an alternative, but I am not 100% sure) - Shrinks when dry - if you're trying to make precisely sized pieces, it does shrink a little bit. I've had to make test pieces to see how much it shrinks, and size some patterns accordingly - Flattens out a bit while drying - instead of using EVA foam to make some beveled strips for armor, I tried using the foam clay to make them instead. After shaping them and leaving them to dry, I noticed the sides kind of deflate and flatten out, losing a little bit of height and shape. I've had to reshape it with my fingers every once in a while, but I don't know if babysitting my piece as it dries is something I want to do. Overall I think this gets the job done, but depending on what you're trying to do with the clay, you'll have to make adjustments.

I've only tried one other brand of foam clay, but this one was definitely better quality. It's really soft, pliable and dries quickly. I even mixed some paint I picked up from the dollar store into it and it still maintained it's integrity. I would leave it in the Ziploc bag rather than just leaving
it in the tub it comes in so that it doesn't dry out. 10/10

An EXTREMELY versatile clay product.
Size: 1500g
Color: Grey
I initially ordered a small tub of this product in a tan / skin tone color. I make animals from gourds and pigs heads happened to come to me a bit more naturally. I then ventured in to wart hogs. When working with this light skin tone color on a chinese bottle gourd - I totally startled myself. These
miniatures seemed to become more realistic each time I added a layer of detail to the heads. The bags around the eyes, the extended neck, the warts and a balloon belly. These details were fine tuned with a brush dipped in water or clay tools. I have yet to begin detailing the edges with a dremel type tool as the Central TX weather is not cooperating with me working outside. I am now waiting on a SANDING DUST BOX (also ordered from Amazon) that will enable to sand INSIDE the house. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. I did order the larger size in gray. I have yet to paint these figures until I finish them off and put legs on them but from what I read this product can be painted with acrylics.

Experiment with the drying time then you can make finishing smoother. Easily add on to another piece like wood or take it out of a mold before it is completely dry and smooth the surfaces or easily cut away. I’ll be using this for a lot of projects

Here's the volume you get
Size: 500g
Color: Grey
1) Since folks use this stuff by volume, 500 grams (1.1 pounds) gets you a package 3 x 5 x 5.5 inches, 5.7 cups, or the volume of a box that would fit a couple 16 ounce cans. 2) The rectangular hard plastic container is not at all air tight. 3) Made in China - like all brands? Would explain why I can
't find a technical description. 4) Rather comically measures in plastic bag 5.6 grams - 1-2% less than stated quantity. CONCLUSION: Looking forward to playing with & getting good at using it, making observations more than complaints, am curious to learn about characteristics across brands. My project is creating graphical elements of custom frames for oil paintings. Excited to discover this material.

Easy to use and quick to dry overnight. I was impressed that even a year later the material was still very pliable. I thought that at least the top layer would be too dry to use.

Dense and resilient, easy to use
Size: 500g
Color: White
The secondary container this craft foam ships with is excellent, however, leave the unused portions in the provided ziplock bag to keep it from drying. The material dries quickly enough to wait an overnight before adding paint/sealer etc. It soaks up acrylic paint like a sponge, so it'll need plenty
of layering to get a solid coat of color. Waaaay more impact resistant than previous air dry foams of a lesser density that I've tried, but can be much noisier when items made from it are dropped.

Dries very well, holds shape well too. Only issue is as it dries it slightly expands in size. Had no issue with paint dissolving like other comments have mentioned.

My daughter loves this clay. She quickly sculpted horns out of it. Dried nicely and painted them to look like candy corn for Halloween.
