Features

  • Forget To Water Your Plants?: With our Self-Watering Plant Stakes, taking care of your plants has never been easier! Made of premium quality terracotta clay, they deliver a constant, steady stream of water without overwatering your plant.
  • Easy to Use: Soak in water 1-2+ hours, so the pores in the clay open. We recommend moistening your soil well. Then take a bottle, fill it with water & place your stakes on top. Create a hole in the soil and place your stake at least 34 of the way in.
  • Indoor & Outdoor: Our self-irrigation system ensures your plants are given the right amount of water no matter the environment. Larger plants may require more than one. Be gentle when handling, terracotta is fragile and may break if used roughly.
  • Eco-Friendly: Instead of tossing your empty water bottles, reuse them for your plant stakes. They can hold any long neck bottle to provide at least 1 liter of water to your plants for upto 7-10 days. As the water begins to run out, just refill.
  • Great Value Pack: Comes with 8 terracotta watering spikes each steak can water a plant for one week. Measures 1.5 Length, 1.5 Width, and 6.8 Height. A great gift for gardeners, people planning a vacation, and plant moms.

  • GReat watering aid
Size: 8 Pack
These are great! I used sparkling water bottles because I was in a hurry to leave. I used these on 7 plants in pots on my balcony. I was only gone for three days, but in Texas with the heat, my plants could need watering every day. These watering stakes worked perfectly. When returned the bottles were about 1/2 full of water. I was very impressed and will leave them in my plants to save my having to water everyday. These are a wonderful tool. I think is I was going on a longer trip, I would soak my plants from the top before I left, and these would most likely help them out for longer than a week, especially if I get larger bottles. These terracotta holders are very substantial. Don't forget to soak for 24 hours before using. Great product. ... show more

  • Intact and working great
Size: 6 Pack
I went away for 1 1/2 weeks recently and my plants did very well with these self-watering spikes in my absence. I did not receive any broken spikes, as others have. All were intact upon receipt and still are. I followed the directions to soak the spikes and soil in advance and am very pleased with the results. Among my plants, I have two thriving lucky bamboo, and it was disappointing to learn that self-watering is not appropriate for them, but found out before my vacation and was able to leave those with a neighbor. I am still using the spikes with all my other plants because it is such a convenience and they are doing great. I only wish the spikes came in a smaller size so I could use them with the plants that are in smaller pots. ... show more

  • Work well
Size: 10 Pack
I’ve purchased these four times. As a (under a year) new gardener, I think these have helped my plants grow, especially in heavy sun and humidity. I was close to installing a drip irrigation system, but, decided to go with more of these instead. I’m using them with perennials in the yard, filling them in using the hose. So many of the drip-irrigation systems, it seems, break down after a few years. And I’d rather have these, working naturally, than lots of little plastic parts deteriorating all over the yard. Also, as a newer gardner, understanding how much to water isn’t easy. With these, the roots take what they need. Still early on enough that I could be wrong. But I think they’re working. Four stars instead of five for the packaging. ... show more

  • A wonderful water-distribution system direct to the roots
Size: 4 Pack
I had built a planter with the pots set at an angle which meant nearly every time I watered the plants the water spilled over the edge. If it watered the plant below it's all fine and good, but of course that rarely happened. Watering stakes to the rescue! I took them out of the box (they were well packaged in styrofoam) and dropped them in a jug of water to soak while I saturated the potting soil and made the holes. Then I shoved/worked/dropped them in place, pressed the soil firmly back around them and topped them off once again. They are working great. My parsley in particular had wanted watering twice a day before but is perfectly happy with the water in the stake. They blend nicely with the color of the pots, too. I know you're supposed to put bottles in them (and I did, a lovely pink one for the largest pot) but I was afraid putting bottles in the smaller pots would be too top heavy for the angle and they'd fall out, but I can just fill the reservoir in the stake and it will seep to the soil beneath just fine. I don't mind topping them off regularly. I might have to keep an eye out for mosquito larvae however since it will be standing water. There are lots of this sort of thing made by many different manufacturers and I was unable to find the dimensions on any of their listings, only the package dimensions, so if it matters, they'll need a hole at least 7" deep and 2.5" diameter to install flush with the soil. Since my pots were kind of small (and already had plants in them) I wasn't able to bury mine as deeply as they probably should go, but whatever. My only regret is they only come in the one size. I bet there are people who would use them as I have who wish they came in a skinnier diameter to fit smaller pots. Instead of being large enough in the diameter to accept a bottle they could just flare at the top or be goblet-shaped to make it easy to pour water directly into them. I want to build a larger planter and I will plan ahead and put these in there ahead of time. I definitely recommend them! ... show more

  • 3/30 not bad at all
Size: 10 Pack
I have high quality organic Carolina reaper peppers growing in the heat of summer, and I need to keep them watered at the top during this unprecedented heatwave. These delicate ceramics are perfect for storing and transporting moisture at a controlled and needed level. The roots wrap around the newly inserted, and water-primed device. Follow directions and everything should turn out fine. I only had the 3 break during bottle insertion. That fact did not change the productivity of the other 27. They work just fine and are of good craftsmanship. I can only imagine there were tiny micro fractures that couldn’t be seen and during shipping they may have been slightly exacerbated and by the time I put the bottle in it just broke. No harm done. 10 out of 10 will buy from again. ... show more

  • Use these all summer long, and Love them!!
Size: 4 Pack
I use these all summer long, and Love them!! I don't have to worry about watering my outside plants when I go away on vacation for a week or during a dry spell of no rain and high heat temperatures, my plants look great all summer long and I don't have to employ people or ask neighbors to water my outside plants. Love all the freedom and peace of mind that that gives me. I have one or more in every outside hanging basket or standing flowering plant container I have! They seem to last me a good week or more before I have to refill the wine bottles. That's perfect for a one week vacation away!! If I'm going away longer, I just put another stake or two in the pot and ask a neighbor to refill the bottles. I have used these for a number of years now, I do take good care of them by promptly removing them from all my planters before frost every year, thoroughly clean and wash and dry them out good before storing them in my garage over winter and they have lasted me for years with no cracks or chips. I do recommend them. ... show more
