I have used the Current app for nearly six years now. I estimate that I've probably earned at least $50 per month using the app. All I have to do is play music (there's a TON of selection!) and to keep my earning rate up I play games and take quick surveys whenever I have the time. This phone makes it even easier to earn. You still earn points with music, games, and surveys but you can also earn by checking the news, weather, and using their web browser. As for the phone itself, it seems to be good quality. The camera works as well as the camera on my LG, and this phone has more memory since it comes with an SD card. The included case and screen protector are nice especially since you can't buy them. In fact, of I had any complaints, that would be it. The case isn't quite as substantial as what I like and I can't buy a sturdier one. I also prefer glass screen protectors and this is just a film. The included headphones are extremely basic and not great, but since I use either my Bluetooth speaker or earbuds, it's a non-issue for me. Switching service with Metro was super easy. I just popped in my SIM card and switched it on the website. All in all, I am very happy with this phone and do not regret my decision. Oh, I've also only had this phone for a bit under two weeks and have already cashed out 2 $10 gift cards. I expect to cash out another tomorrow! ... show more

A few reviews said this didn't work with MINT mobile- it DOES! I pulled back cover off, inserted SIM and SD card then turned on phone. Did setup with google & connected to wifi- immediately it sent me a text from mint to set up, i didnt even have to go through the steps, i sent a picture message & regular message to my daughter & placed a call both on wifi and on LTE. Worked perfectly. Its a good back up phone or business phone (thats what im using it for) i have a Note20 as my everyday phone but this MODE phone is great for work calls/text and bonus using it for music and other things to play on & earn points! Its not as snappy as my note 20 but does the job! Screen is vibrant enough and i used it for audible, prime video & netflix with no issues. Volume is ok for the price. ... show more

UPDATED REVIEW:: A big THANK YOU to James for continuously following up with me and helping me work through issues with the Mode Phone and Current. I was able to have a call with James and Kevin to talk about my Mode phone and Current app experience. Thanks to the recent updates, everything is working as intended now and I am really excited to use the Mode phone again to its full capabilities. There are also newer features such as an additional survey selection, the Play to Earn is back, and the widgit is functioning well! Overall, I am very impressed with the professionalism of the Mode Phone/Current app team and their continued drive for success. The turnaround time between raising issues and seeing results is stellar. They make the customer feel special and very important. Yes, I recommend the Mode phone - Current app users gain an additional 50% points from using the phone. The widgit is great and gives additional points when you use it. Yes, the Mode Phone and Current work well together (they are completely compatible). If you have any issues with the phone or the app, reach out to customer support and someone will surely get back to you. Thank you again Mode Phone and Current app team! OLD REVIEW: I was looking forward to mainly using the device with the Current app and was sorely disappointed. I am unable to play games (am told this is an app issue), complete surveys (phone thinks I'm on some proxy server on the same WiFi as my other device), and the widgit is not compatible. I have been contacting Mode support and Current support and no one is able to tell me how to fix the phone so it works correctly with Current. I have gone back to my original device for Current app - same WiFi and no "anonymous proxy" message, and I am able to complete surveys. The play to earn feature is still not working (Current app says it is an app issue). Sometimes when I try to download apps, it gets to 99% and then ultimately does not download. Memory and space are not issues since I only have ONE other app on the phone (Pokemon Go). Otherwise, I guess the phone is decent if you need some kind of upgrade. I did not get to explore the features too much due to the disappointment of not being able to thoroughly use the Current app. Do I recommend it for the Current app? Other reviews say it works... but for me, personally? No. Unless there is an update, I do not think it is worth sending countless emails to support trying to "fix" a phone/app and make it compatible for the phone/app it is supposed to be paired with. I feel I used up a lot of time and my points earning has basically gone to the lowest ever (0.5 / minute) AND there is literally no way to increase the boost points on my end. ... show more

So there are two aspects to this phone. The phone itself is okay. It's fair quality for the price. It feels great on the hand, and I love that it came with the case. The speed isn't super fast, but that was expected. I expected more from the camera though. The other aspect of this phone is using the Current app. It comes with it (and other apps) pre-installed, so it gets you started, but I have had SO many questions that I cannot find the answer to - I wish there was a video tutorial. At first, it was a bit intimidating and I was nervous if it was a bit of a gimmick but as time progresses, I am learning to enjoy it more and more, and working on getting points. The game aspect of the app keeps crashing so that is a big bummer. Plus, whenever you download a game that requires an extended period of play, it is not clear how long you have to complete it... when I reopen the game after a while, I am not sure if I am making points. For me personally, the very BEST feature is the music app! Literally getting paid to listen to music! I was underwhelmed by the channels I initially saw, but after a search on the app, I found a channel that plays my FAVORITE BAND 24/7 !!! You cannot beat that! I have not redeemed any points on the Current app yet, but so far I am pleased with the purchased - and getting better every day as I get more used to it. ... show more
