A ground anchor is a ground anchor, right? Not in this case. This particular anchor has a steel loop that threads into the top of the anchor post. Once you no longer have the need for them, you can remove the loop at the top, leaving the rest in the ground for a later time or remove the whole assembly by using an open ended wrench on the welded hex nut, when no longer needed. These anchors are painted to resist rust as well. Do they hold? It all depends on the type of soil/ground in your area but, speaking from personal experience, I can attest to their strength in a sandy clay ground mix. They are employed, holding down a 13 foot X 20 foot portable car port where winds that have reached 60 MPH at times as well as continuous 35MPH winds for 24 hours or more. They have yet to budge even an inch. They are heavier gauged than many other anchors of the same length. I am very satisfied with them and recommend them to everyone... ... show more

Very strong and easy to install - I used a 13MM socket to drive it in, BUT, don't use a cordless drill otherwise you might burn it up! I used socket set and it work great. I then screwed in the eye bolt and attached the rope to the tree! the rope included with the set was very easy to use, and strong enough to hold most anything! ... show more
