My Nespresso died so I needed a quick replacement. The Mixpresso was a same day delivery. I already had the capsules so I didn't want to change to the newer pod design. I love the size of this machine, it has a small footprint on my counter. The discharge container of the used pods holds quite a few, I emptied at ten. I like that the water container has a flip up top vs the removable on most models. My only concern is that the handle seems on the flimsy side and it pulls back the opening for the capsules. The manufacturer has a 1 year umbrella coverage so I'm giving it a chance. The brew strength doesn't seem quite as strong vs the Nespresso but it is still a good cup. I was so close to buying the Nespresso pixie, but couldn't justify it since I already own a Nespresso Vertuo machine. I ONLY drink lattes, and the Vertuo makes regular coffee, too, but the pods are getting more expensive. This Mixpresso offers more versatility for pods. I've already bought pods on sale at Costco and found some at Home Goods, plus I can order more here. Machine is loud, but only for a few seconds. Not a dealbreaker. I love it. I really like this machine! Traveling in Europe and Latin America, I noticed that everyone has these things; no one has a Keurig. And the coffee is pretty darn good. I brought back a bunch of pods from my travels and fantasized about buying a Nespresso machine, but they are so expensive (and now they're pushing their new line that doesn't take the "old" pods). So I finally bought myself this as a treat and I have no complaints whatsoever. Mostly I wanted to write to make a few suggestions for future buyers. These aren't a judgment of the value of the product, but things you should be aware of that I kind of overlooked. The main thing is that it doesn't make a big ol' American-style mug o' Joe; it makes a cute little European baby espresso, even when you hit the "large" button. So two reasons that's important are, first, that your big honkin' tall mug won't fit under the spout. You'll need either some dainty little teacups, or some mugs that are wider and not so much tall and skinny. Ironically the 1980s-era coffee mugs I got from my parents or thrift stores work, too; seems like we must have become more addicted to caffeine over the past 30 or 40 years. Go figure. Okay, second reason this is important: I usually end up making a double every time I do it, so I go through the pods twice as fast as I thought I would. I should have ordered twice as many. And in the States, they're not quite as easy to come by as Keurig pods. There are some pretty affordable and inexpensive Nespresso pods here on Amazon, though, so I just order them. Not a big deal. Upon opening the open I noticed the espresso machine was a little dirty on the white parts I figured it was normal si ce it was white but upon opening the capsule bin I see where there was a trace of wiped coffee as if it had been used before I didn't pay much mind to it I just continued I filled the plastic container with water turned it on waited until it stopped blinking pressed the small cup button and nothing came out I tried again and same nothing was brewing I entered a new capsule thinking g maybe it was defective but no same thing g with the new capsule the espresso machine then started to make a loud noise followed by a shaking it overheated ot let out smoke and turned off. Do not recommend buying this espresso machine maybe Saveup a little more and buy a better quality one take it from personal experience ... show more
