Per video there is to be a velcro strip on the sherpa pad to match up to the one inside so it doesn't fold inward.. see 1st pix. Also, video was sure fast motion to make it seem easy but honestly there's a lot of material ie. the multi wires and the screen to squeeze together when you try to zipper it closed again after unfolding it. I'm afraid that I will risk getting the zipper caught in the multi-screens causing a rip so I'm returning. A bit convoluted for me. Oh...btw.. pics 2 & 3 there is no slot through the sherpa pad to thread the tether through to reach your pets collar?? Wow. Who designed this? (Or am I really just so inept at this for my age ?? ) Yeesh! And to think I actually solve other people's problems for a living! LOL! ... show more

My cat is around 12lbs. He’s a big boy. When he’s in the carrier and on my shoulder or back, the top of the carrier squishes a bit. I wanted a carrier that held its shape more since I want to use it for long distance travel. Overall, good carrier, but wished it was more reinforced.

Out of all the carriers available, this one by far is really nice. It allows the pet extra room with the extensions on the sides. The durability is awesome. It's like luggage! This is better than one of the hard plastic carriers which I purchased and returned after receiving this carrier. Buy one!

I bought this for 2 cats for a 4 hour car trip. First they're kittens, 4 mos old abt 3 lbs each so not heavy. The bag advertised it was a stable bottom so they stay flat...it was not. Carrying them from home to car to home the bag bent inward and the cats freaked out. The mesh windows are escape proof, they didnt tear the mesh or get the zippers open. It came with a few different carry strap options but if u buy this bag you'll want to hold the bottom stable while walking with it. Also came with a free collapsible bowl and a fleece lined sorta board for the bottom for comfort and stability which was able to be removed for washing. Its not the worst carrier and would probably have done better with just one animal inside, it also kept my pets comfortable and secure during a cross country relocation which was the intended purpose. ... show more

This carrier has all the features you'd want for a soft-sided carrier with expandable sides. There are extra straps too so you can make it into a backpack. There isn't much pocket space to carry necessities and the inside of the compartment is very small. I would only recommend this for a kitten. The description indicates it can have 2 cats in it, but I personally would feel that is stretching it and 2 cats would not have room to even move around in it, especially if the sides were zipped up. All of these expandable sides takes up room in the main compartment when zipped up, so be sure to consider this when purchasing this carrier. ... show more

My cat is 15lbs and he fit very comfortably in this carrier. I used this carrier to drive my cat to the vet which is a 2hr drive from my home. I would recommend getting this carrier for anyone with a cat or small dog.

    • Complicated, lots of zippers
We decided to return this item. While it seems like it would be a good idea, it has some very complex folding joints. Some of these have stiffeners that are hard to get inside the carrier when you zip it closed. The zippers were quite stiff and only worked well after I'd lubricated them with a very high quality light oil. Even then, there's a lot of pressure on them when you zip the extensions closed and they catch on the stiffeners mentioned above. I'd expect them to fail at some point. With the side extensions closed the animal can't see out. We decided a simpler carrier was preferable. ... show more
