    • SO Compact, Lightweight, Large Ounce Capacity ~ Love It!!
I am a traveling/move-in pup sitter and there's several homes in which I stay that doesn't have a pod-type coffee maker. Since I bring my own pods, I've been lugging a large pod-type coffee maker with me which is never super quick to unpack, carry, re-pack and load (along with all my other stuff). This little cutie is PERFECT for my purpose and likely LOTS of situations with its itty-bitty footprint. True -- it's a one cup (mug) at a time unless you're a 6 ounce drinker and then you'll get 2 cups from one fill-up. You CAN also fill the coffee-filter-insert with loose ground coffee if preferred and you can get hot water! There is also a function to make an iced coffee or iced tea if you supply the ice - I haven't tried that yet, but I intend to with the hot weather coming. This brewer is VERY easy set-up to get going ASAP. Basically, you'll fill the reservoir with 14 ounces of water. Do not insert any coffee pod or grounds this first round. Plug in, push the BREW button with a 14 oz++ container underneath - the BREW button will illuminate and let it do its thing. As pictured, I used a tall thick glass because it easily fit. I then ran it again for 12 ounces (without coffee) to time it and check the temperature. The hot water coming out was over 198 degrees... inside the glass, the temp ran about 178 degrees. Pretty hot. The timer shows that it brewed 12 ounces in 2 minutes 39 seconds. Do let the last drips complete and let it do it's "exhale" before removing your drinking container. ***Did a coffee-pod run this morning and you'll need to give the pod a strong-press-down so the underneath "spike" locks in and lowers the pod... Then, drop the lid (that has the top spike. Under the "pod" lid, it is pretty steamy & hot so do be careful. I suggest lifting the lid and letting it settle down before removing a pod to refill for another cup. Included is a thorough and easy-to-read guide for your "Quick Start" along with a recipe book, and a warranty card. I hope this baby lasts and lasts. It's such a nicer way to go for me. You can provide one in a guest room... take it in a travel trailer, camping... You could even have it set up in your bedroom - ready to brew if you want an easy morning, cup of joe, in bed and not travel to the kitchen or need to talk to anybody first thing!! I'm liking this idea too!! :) ... show more

For me, I found my days of having multiple cups of coffee per day dwindled down to one a day because I love the taste. So, I would brew from my 12-cup coffee maker seemingly accordingly, which is technically fine. Then someone I know got one of those Ninja coffee makers that you can brew the 12 cup seemingly old-fashioned way or simply set it up to set a cup under the liquid coming out and get your one cup. Voila! Genius! In my eyes anyway. Still, I did not get one honestly for the price tag and because truly, what I had going was good enough if I didn't have something that simply brewed one cup directly into my cup. And then I saw this. Yes, please! I always wonder if it is best to say what I find not so wonderful about it first and finish with how much I love it last because someone reading this will most likely remember the last of what I share. Anyway, then... This thing is tinier than I thought and yet, if you are looking for something that does not command much counter space...whoo hoo! You found it. This means, for me though, that the Yeti I could fill and enjoy with my friend's Ninja is too big to fit under this. You can fit a tallish coffee mug at most. The plastic or whatever material this item is constructed primarily from, to me, seems a bit fragile and yet, I suppose if I handle it with care and it is only sitting on my counter it is probably strong enough. I don't do pods. It is nice that option is available with this. The filter for this is adorable. I think off and on I will find it annoying that I have to clean it because there is no paper filter I can buy for it. Yet, it really isn't that difficult. Other than that, I suppose it is nice this came with a lovely and well-put together recipe booklet that I'll never look at. I like a bold, strong coffee that is a wonderful complement to my favorite creamer. And well, I guess you likes what you likes. Can this item accomplish this for me one cup at a time one day at a time? YES! For that I feel blessed and will happily use this item as my coffee maker du jour. ... show more

    • Great little machine

Very happy with this machine. It's easy to use. The water reservoir is easy to fill and I appreciate that I can see how much water I've added so I don't have to pre-measure the water - I just pour it in from my water pitcher. I've used both inserts to test it out and I think it makes a great cup of coffee. I needed to experiment with how much water to use, especially since I haven't regularly used K cups previously. I have found it drips a little when I remove the insert because of water in that compartment (condensation I guess) so I pop a napkin or dishtowel under the spout before I remove it. I don't have any coffee drips though - just wait a short bit after brewing finishes before you grab the cup. It's a great size - short and narrow. This means though that I can't really brew over ice because I don't have any glasses that are small enough. I've not found that to be a problem though - I just put my glass measuring cup under the spout so I can easily pour the resulting brew over ice in my coffee glass. I like that it has a warning button for when to descale. It didn't need it yet as I haven't had the machine for very long, but I did want to test out how that worked. It was easy to start and went through pretty quick. The recommended three clear water rinses were also quick because this machine works so quickly. I'm really delighted with this, much more than I expected to. I'm glad it's so easy to use my own ground coffee - that insert is a generous size so I found it easy to fill. The flexibility makes me happy because I can mainly use my favorite grounds, but buy k cups in flavors for a treat. ... show more
