First I only have this for a few days but will update if anything changes. I bought this because of Prime Day and because I have an expensive Holy SDtone I am not confident in flying so this was the perfect opportunity to practice with an inexpensive drone. I did add the app to the phone and it did sync well and the camera and video work, I have not tried to fly it yet with the app - I am still learning how to control it with the controller. But it crashed several times and I lost a blade on my 3rd try but I had no idea what I was doing. it is behind the desk or somewhere in the room. I will find it but appreciate the extra two blades and 2 batteries. I am not on my 5th try ad can control it well. There are many youtube videos to help you understand which control turn it, lift it, move it forward, etc... For the price it is a perfect starter but for the size also something that can be used long after the learning process. ... show more

    • Great Drone for Adults and Kids!

We have really enjoyed this drone! It's a great drone for both adults and kids and beginners of any age. My 10 year old daughter bought this for herself and she's been using it any chance she can get. Initially, it would pull to one side when she was flying it. The troubleshooting section was helpful and we were able to figure out how to calibrate it. It now flies perfectly. We had a little trouble figuring out how to click on the protectors. After experimenting with them, we discovered that each protector has numbers/letters that match where they attach on the drone. Very easy. The camera is clear and takes really good video. We recommend not flying it in the wind because the wind will grab it and go. In talking with other mini drone owners (different brands), this just seems to be par for the course with winds and drones so fly responsbily. Overall, this is a great little drone, my daughter loves it and we highly recommend it. ... show more

    • A good "starter" drone

The media could not be loaded. I'm a retired, 78 yo, engineer. I've been curious about drones and this is my first. As many have posted, it's basically a techy toy but because it has a camera, it has the draw of serious technology. It was fairly easy to set up and fly. The remote control is effective within range (approx. 160 ft but I don't recommend pushing it to the limit). The camera and app is a bit more challenging but once it's setup, is fairly effective. The Wi-Fi range for the camera is a lot less than the control range. Indoor flying can be mastered fairly quickly but outdoors is another problem. Even light wind will effect things quite a bit and it's difficult to keep stability and steady hovering. After reading about how many people lost drones like this flying away uncontrollably, I decided on a plan to avoid that by tying 50 ft. of kite string to the drone on my first foray outside. This helped to keep it within limits. I also tested what would happen if I lost control by shutting off the remote while it was hovering inside. It made a controlled drop to the floor but I understand not all drones do the same and different model or brand might continue flying out of range. The camera has fairly good resolution but it's glitchy and can be unresponsive. The drone is quite tough as I've crashed it a number of times without any major damage. One time after a crash, two of the props stopped turning and I thought it might be dead but I found they had been pushed down on the axels so they were dragging against the housing. Simply pulling up on the props freed them and it returned to full operation. ... show more

Nice fun very small drone. It does take a minute or two or several tries and crashes to get the hang of it if your trying in your living room. I think it's a good step toward knowing if you'd like to invest in a proper drone with better flying abilities like staying in one spot instead of wondering when you release the control sticks, I wish it would do that but the quick 1 day email response from the seller when I inquired about this ability, informed me this drone doesn't have a special sensor in it to be able to stay (what i call) static in the air. Anyway it's handled all the crashes extremely and actually from some of them like where I lost it in the kitchen, surprisingly well. I can even land it pretty proficiently now (it's just knowing it's above a flat surface and hitting the land button). If it wasn't as advertised I'd return it but it is what it is. I'm going to see if I can find more of the battery packs for the drone as it comes with two and it won't fly forever or long on those especially one which seems to have half the life expectancy with full charge (90 minutes), as the other. I figure with it moving around on its own; yes up and down and forward, backward, left and right, slowly but surely, and me at the same time learning to maneuver it to where I'm wanting it to go within the confines of my house I should be able to really be handy on the controls of a decent drone eventually. I'll probably aim for my next drone to be in the 500 to 750 range before graduating myself to one of those sick units I've seen commercial drone people using with all the bells and whistles. This is definitely not the drone before one of those dealios, but it's a good first step. I've had one before in the 50 dollar range and it was trash which I dropped off at Goodwill so if you see it there, don't bother, I couldn't even get it to take off. I am getting an amazon credit incentive plus a donation to a charity to write an honest review of this drone, I wasn't asked to write a fiction and automatically give this drone a 5 star review which is good of the seller. If you're looking for a 1st drone to get an idea of what its like and have some good laughs with your self and or friends and family this is a very inexpensive way to start your first baby step in the direction of that new hobby. Good luck - p.s. now to try and find those batteries, and I suggest if they are cheaply available buy a handful yourself and also possibly an extra USB power block and micro USB wire as only one of each comes with the 2 batteries in this drone set. Since it would be dam near impossible to fly this thing and take a picture at the same time I'll have to see if I can get somebody to take a picture of it flying (I'll update this review then), also I haven't downloaded the app or used the camera to test those features out, figured I would try that stuff out when I could watch the drone in the air and coordinate my fingers on the sticks with greater ease.
