I am overall happy with this Mini Drill Press Vise Clamp. I can use it with my Dremel Workstation very easily. There are a couple things I did to make this vise clamp more useful that I would like to share. I originally purchased this to turn sea shells into jewelry and use them for chimes. I also find that this clamp is useful for drilling tiny holes into small resin jewelry projects like beads. I do make sure to wear a respirator to protect myself from harmful particles. I would strongly suggest others do the same, or use a N95 drywall mask for adequate protection. I separately purchased M5 screws and silicone tubing. My screws are different lengths and I use the tubing to cover the exposed threads so I can have different support columns to use in the vise. This has worked beautifully for me and was a very cheap modification. I also suggest to place the vise on a silicone mat to prevent slipping, which can be dangerous if using the vise with a drill. Inexpensive specialty vise. It's not very refined. I had to take it apart and re-tap the threads and run a die down the threads of the threaded rod. I also took a metal file across the bottom of the movable vise and the bed it slides on to remove casting and excess paint. I then wire brushed the threads and lubricated it, in order to make it operate smoothly. Might be handy to lightly hold small specialty items in place to hand work. I bought this to clamp down round items while drilling in a press. It will not clamp on much of anything very tightly. The little plastic tabs that come in contact with your work piece are pretty flimsy. I was not very impressed. However, you get what you pay for and this didn't cost very much.

I noticed some negative reviews but bought it anyway. Glad I did. It was well worth the minimal investment. It opens and closes well and holds stone pendants securely for drilling. Yes, as others noted, one mounting hole had some casting material burrs but it was paper thin and easy to remove with an exact knife. ... show more

I use this to hold small parts that I'm engraving on my 3018 CNC. It's good for light duty use but I wouldn't mill with it. The jaws are not parallel and the powder coating inside the jaws just make it more slippery.

It held my new watch in place while I used the hammer and a tiny nail to push the metal pins through the watch links! You’ll need a cloth in between the jaws so as not to scratch your metal band though.
