  • Compact, Powerful, and Tough!
Purchased this impact wrench in 2015 and ever since it has been my go-to when working on cars in the garage. It makes assembly / disassembly SO much faster than doing it by hand, and it has the power to break even pretty stubborn bolts. It even manages to break the lug nuts on my truck without too much fight. Having this amount of speed and power used to mean using air tools, but this does it without wrestling an air hose or having a noisy compressor running. With the standard size M12 batteries, it is extremely compact and fits into places that larger 18V type impacts would not fit due to their larger size and battery. The 3/8" square drive means it fits my most common sockets, but can be used with adapter to accept 1/2" or 1/4" drive sockets if needed. The standard batteries last longer than I expected and charge very fast (about 30 minutes). For this tool the standard size battery lasts me a long time. I have expanded my M12 lineup since I bought this tool, and I will say the more power hungry tools (such as hackzall, circ saw, etc) do need the larger capacity XC batteries! I try to be kind to my tools, but it does take a bit of abuse getting bumped in tight spaces, more than the occasional drop, etc...and it seems to have tolerated the abuse quite well. Overall, awesome little tool, absolutely love this thing. I do have my eye on the new 2554 M12 Fuel STUBBY 3/8" Impact, which has nearly TWICE the breaking torque as this does, in a smaller. Im also looking at the M12 ratchet, again for tight spots where the impact wont fit. ... show more

  • Best money I've spent in a while
It's super powerful for a 12V tool, if I used it before I bought it, I would have paid double without asking. Battery life is crazy good, and for a small 3/8 gun the power is very surprising. I bought it when I started working on my 67 Ford truck, pulled everything down to and including the heads with it. Pulled off crusty old shock bolts, rusted up exhaust hangers, things I didn't think it would do, it did it with very little effort, I did'nt have to sit there waiting forever while it hammered on it and not do anything. Love this tool, still surprised by it when I use it. I can't say enough good things about it, If you're just doing basic automotive work, hands down the best tool to have. ... show more

  • Better bang for your buck than a snap on
I wanted to give this gun a week in the shop before I gave it a full review as I was really buying it to compare to the snap on 3/8" electric impact. About the wrench: Surprisingly powerful, ergonomic and overall, my most used tool. It's great for getting the small nuts and bolts and things like bolts for interiors of cars, battery terminals, air bags and other bolts, like small ones on suspension and engine. With a full charge, can take a lug nut torqued to 90lbs off a car with an adapter and 21MM socket, mind you I wouldn't use it like this regularly, but just wanted to test the power. The only negative I found is really a preference vs the snap on gun (which costs nearly $400 with battery and charger) is this has the traditional bump left or right for forward or reverse, where as snap on has a dual trigger, which is much nicer. But not worth the extra money in my book. Other wise, this battery lasts as long, takes off the same bolts in right around the same amount of time as the snap ons. ... show more

  • Milwaukee's Best
I'm a lube tech and do a lot of oil changes, etc. and this unit is a real power house. It loosens anything you throw at it. It has two settings for a lighter torque or a heavy one that I have not had nothing stopping it from doing its job. By far better than any other competitor that I have used in the last 10 years. If you really need some serious power, this is it. I also have the 1/4" drive for home and its a real work horse. This unit comes with a hard shell case, charger and 2 rechargeable batteries. Milwaukee, built to last under any conditions. You will be blown away by the power of this. ... show more

Impressive for a 12 volt. This was the first of several tools I bought from the M12 Fuel line. I already own 18 volt tools, but for doing stuff around the house, I prefer the lighter 12 volts. The torque and battery life is great. Easliy takes the lugs off when rotating my car tires. Also comes in handy for other mechanical work, like removing brake calipers. It's small enough to get into tight spaces, and saves me from having to bring out the air tools. Love it. ... show more

  • Best 3/8 impact peroid.
This isn't the tool for you if you're trying to change a wheel on a car. If you're trying to change a wheel on a car you should be using a 1/2" impact. If you're doing any project with smaller than 19mm / 3/4"bolts, this will exceed your expectations. I paid full price for this, no sponsorships; I LOVE this tool. I'm a automotive technician in a busy shop where almost everybody has this tool. We all love it and use it on every project. I have two batteries and haven't ever been waiting on the charger. You found what you're looking for. Go buy it! ... show more

  • Great tool - know what type of anvil you want.
I bought this to get into tight areas when working on my vehicles. I have the 1/2" M18 impact which works great but the body is too big for some applications. This tool worked great for removing the 14mm and 17 mm (torqued at 78 ft lb) caliper bolts when I was replacing brakes and rotors. There is no way I could have used my M18 1/2 impact for some of the bolts. The 2.0 amp/hr batteries didn't loose a bar after doing the whole brake job. My only complaint is, I couldn't use my Craftsman non-impact sockets with it - they were too loose around the anvil. Other brands of sockets may fit differently. I bought this version of the tool because I wanted the friction ring instead of a pin detent on the anvil. The friction ring maybe what's causing non-impact sockets to fit loose. I had no issues with impact sockets. I got around this by using a short impact extension. My recommendation at least in my case is - buy impact sockets in you choose to purchase this variation of the tool or get the variation with the pin detent on the anvil. I would recommend this tool. ... show more
