Avoiding (cow's) milk is not a fad for me. I definitely needed a substitute. My Brooklyn BFF took me to her favorite food co-op to see the co-op's assortment of soy and nut milks. I am a never soyer and disliked nut milks but tried this brand of macadamia nut milk. It is tasty w/o the unpalatable texture of its nutmilk counterparts. It's almost 1/2 the price on Amazon. A win for me. Buying it by the case! May have to subscribe. I put it in my hot oatmeal, cold Cheerios and can re-enjoy a PBJ sandwhich bec. I have to drink milk with it. I eat what I eat and drink what I drink because I love food. I'm not vegan, keto, or anything but an inspired eater. I enjoy nut milks for drinking, baking, having over cereal, and for smoothies. Not a fan of most of them for coffee as it always lends an odd flavor. For that I stick to heavy cream, half and half, oat milk, or go black. I make an exception for their Milkadamia Macadamia and Coconut creamer. And so being pleased enough with that, I decided to try this UNSWEETENED macadamia shelf stable (until opened) milk. This has a decent flavor, though I pick up on a vanilla taste that shouldnt be there. I could not use this in applications that I dont want any added flavor. So I will be using this for smoothies, which is fine as it was my main reason for getting it. I buy cartons of non dairy milk, but I like keeping the shelf stable boxes well stacked in my pantry because I dont want a lot of cartons taking up space in my fridge. I am not the type to go to the store every day, let alone every week, so I keep a balance of fridge items and shelf items. For whatever reason, they do not include a picture of the nutritional profile. Lots of other pictures of the container, but not a single on of the important information??????!! Why? Another thing? ingredient list is off. The calories per 8 ounce serving is 40, not 50. There are 4 servings per container. Do not freeze Refrigerate after opening (use within 7-10 days) INGREDIENTS (for unsweetened option): macadamia milk (filtered water, macadamias), calcium phosphate, natural flavors, pea protein, sunflower lecithin, locust bean gum, sea salt, gellan gum, D2 I would consider this again depending on the price. The unsweetened is currently $11.96 for a pack of 6, which is quite reasonable for about $2 per carton. I keep an eye out for sales, and never buy at full price. ... show more

Thing I like the most is this remains shelf stable while unopened. I rarely use milk, but when making scrambled eggs or an omelette, I have to add milk, and this fits the bill. I am grateful I am not throwing away so much regular milk that I haven't used in quickly enough. It does add a little bit of sweetness, but NOT overwhelming toothache sweet. ... show more

**UPDATE** I have now tried both the Barista blend and the lightly sweetened original. I am changing my Subscribe and Save to the Barista blend. The lightly sweetened one does not seem to foam as well and, for some reason, just does not taste as good in my coffee. Having to cut back drastically on all dairy products, I feel it most when it comes to the creamer for my coffee. I've tried so many things and this is just the lates. Pros: --Flavor is not overwhelming. No taste of the macadamia. Reminds me of low-fat milk in a way. -- Cuts back on the harshness of my strong black coffee. -- Cost looks high until I looked at the per-ounce price. My health is worth it. -- Blends well so far into smoothies and coffee. I haven't had any "floaties" or sediment. -- Shelfable cartons are great. I'm single and don't use a lot of this at one time. This helps with the price also. Cons: -- Added phosphates and the like. I didn't pay enough attention to all the labels. --The added salt didn't help the ingredients list for me! -- A bit bland for coffee and very light-watery for smoothies. The photo shows a half-cup of dark roast black coffee with and without a tablespoon of the milkadamia. Not a lot of difference. -- I thought "barista" would mean more flavor for the coffee. Maybe it's the texture or bendability they are talking about though. Overall: I really need to try the vanilla but it's a bit pricier than I can stand. I will look for a single carton to try first. I know that I hate plain soy milk but can take it if it's the vanilla-flavored kind. For the benefits to my health (I'm stage 3b CKD), this is something I prefer over cashew milk which, for some reason, irritated the skin on my face. I wish that this were "heavier" in texture but... I am adding a tiny bit of unsalted sweet butter to my coffee with this and that works better. It makes the milk not feel so thin. I can't say about the foaming because I don't typically foam my milk products anyway. Will I buy this again? Probably. It's a bit better than anything else I've tried but I need to see it in the vanilla flavor to make a decision. ... show more

This is the last milk I will ever buy. I tried them all. Cow milk makes my stomach hurt. Soy milk was the first one I tried. It has a strange after taste and it goes bad way too fast. Almond milk also has an undesirable aftertaste. I can't understand how it became so popular. Coconut milk is natural and the only backup in case I'm in a situation where it it difficult to gain access to macadamia milk. I frown at rice milk and oat milk and laugh at hemp milk. Macadamia milk is the closest there is to real milk and if it weren't for it, I probably would not even drink milk. Long live macadamia milk. ... show more
