We use a duvet on top of a country quilt & top sheet when it's cool or cold - for us, that's late Sep - early May. We also have duvets for the rest of the family. With other duvet covers, I've had three main problems: most don't come with inside corner ties to attach to the duvet, most are either button closure (terrible!) or snap (slightly better), and all show dirt and pet fur. Incredibly frustrating - even with using safety pins to attach the duvet cover to the duvet corners or the super magnets available here for the same purpose. I hadn't considered microfiber until I bought one of these for one of our college-bound kids. After seeing how that one held up all year, I decided to try one for us, and got it in a dusky grayish mid-tone blue - it's a beautiful color, slightly faded (by design). 1. Microfiber + dirt & pet hair? YES! Truly, the only option if you have pets since fur gets everywhere even when pets sleep elsewhere. I've had to wash the duvet cover once in 4-5 months (nothing hides drips of coffee). It washed well - I can't speak to drying as I line-dry most things especially large items like this. It dried quickly and came out just as soft. I washed it regular cycle with other laundry, no fabric softener. 2. Internal ties - why doesn't every duvet have them? A small thing, but it works well to keep the duvet in place. I have to shake it out twice a month or so to even out the duvet within the cover, but it's a quick shake because of the ties. THANK YOU!!! I'll never buy a cover again that doesn't have them. 3. Zipper closure - very nice. The bottom closes entirely - no gaps, no snaps to come undone, buttons to pop off, or button holes that loosen over time. One caveat - the placard seam over the zipper isn't wide enough, so it tends to stay "flipped" up, showing the zipper. Annoying, and that would be enough for me to choose another cover IF other microfiber covers had zippers & internal ties and a wider placard. They don't seem to, and with the price of this so low, I can live with it. It just means that the zippered end has to be tucked down at the foot of the bed for aesthetics and comfort. I love the comfort, color, durability, value, and features. The minor issue with hiding the (white) zipper is small considering the excellent value and overall plusses. TL/DR: ...but it might not be as terrific in a larger size or with a heavier insert. I say that because yep, this is a very lightweight/thin cover. I expect it to hold up for about two years if my cats don't decide to shred it, and this is based on the expectation that I will treat it as I treat any delicate item for the laundry - cold water, short cycle, dry just to damp-dry on low, then finish drying over a clothes-drying rack. The ties are narrow and small synthetic satin ones. That's fine I guess because they are well sewn, and if they were sturdier I'd worry that the cover would tear before they would. I'd rather have to re-sew ties in, than have to figure out how to repair an unsightly tear - I'm a good hand sewer and could do embroidery or something but that would be a lot of work. The zipper seems adequate and it's sewn with a little flap to be invisible - but it's probably the most vulnerable part of the comforter. I'll wash this cover and its pillowcase together but not with any other laundry. The material feels fairly cottony and some may be disappointed that it's not sueded-ish, but I hate that suede texture in a microfiber fabric. For one, it will catch on any rough spot on your skin, yuk. For two, I have cats and their hair will stick to the suede-texture microfiber like dirt sticks to a microfiber duster. I bought the grayish-teal and I would say that my actual comforter looks about a shade lighter, and a bit less gray, than what shows up on my desktop or fire tablet screen. I'd call the screen image color celadon - by comparison I'd describe my actual comforter as a light, true teal just barely leaning toward a "mint" tone. Still grayed enough to not be garish, and it matches my deeper teal sheets beautifully. I use only cotton sheets because they stay cooler in summer, breathe, and a decent percale doesn’t pill. For a comforter cover that doesn’t much come into direct contact with the sleeper, pilling should be less of an issue, but I’ll update if there is serious or premature pilling of this duvet cover. Speaking of which, below is text from the insert which was included with the cover: "How to prevent pilling: 1) Reduces friction. For example, sleep in pajamas set." So...I guess they are instructing the user not to sleep in the nude? Or something? That's the only place where the translation breaks down a bit, possibly due to fear of being indelicate... ... show more

There was definitely a love hate thing going on here. First the cons…. The packing - it literally arrived in a small box. No wrapping anything. First impression- I immediately thought it was satin upon taking it out the box. It’s a very interesting material that I wasn’t sure about. I have a queen size bed but in my experience duvet covers always shrink so I typically get king size so that way when it shrinks, it still fits good. So I ordered a king. It was so huge. I washed it right away and to my surprise, it did not shrink not even a little. This would have been great had I gotten the queen but the king was just too big. I’m almost certain it was mislabeled. I had to buy a new divert insert (king) and unfortunately the duvet cover was still way too big. On to the pros….it doesn’t shrink! And it doesn’t really wrinkle. The material almost looks satin but it’s not. It’s really soft as well. And the color is really really nice in person. It’s like a taupe color but a bit lighter. Can definitely be cool or warm. I also ordered the Queen hoping that maybe it’d be oversized as well but would be a better fit for my king duvet insert. Wrong. The Queen was definitely a Queen. While the color was very nice - I ultimately returned both. ... show more
