I try to leave valuable reviews on products but this one made me go IMMEDIATELY to the reviews section for a pat on the back. This is AMAZING. 1. Great value. 2. Sooooooooo soft. The velvet side is so soft and the reverse side is a complimentary plain fabric that is a good year round material. 3. It’s a good material thickness. Not too heavy, not too thin. 4. Button closures (i do wish they had a zipper option) but there are plenty buttons and it lays well. 5. The ties inside help keep the duvet in place. 6. It works without the duvet insert if you want to use it during warmer seasons but is designed to accommodate the duvet so the reviews that mention it’s not as fluffy as it looks obviously didn’t read the product info. 7. The shams have a lip to hold in the pillows I love the color. Pale safe/olive green. It’s taupe-ish and just right. No weird smell, super warm and cozy. I have not washed yet but it appears that it will be easy to toss in mine at home and not be a high maintenance comforter. I’d buy this in other colors for seasonal swaps for sure. My room isn’t fully set up yet because I just moved, but I am SHOOKETH. This might be the BEST Amazon find I’ve found thus far. Full disclosure, I’ve only had it a couple days & I haven’t washed it multiple times or anything yet, so I have no idea how well the black velvet will maintain it’s color or softness. So there’s that. From other reviews, it seems washing it makes no difference. Regardless, I’m absolutely obsessed so far. My room is one step closer to becoming my goth queen dream. But it doesn’t stop at how amazing it looks….oh no. It is so stinkin’ soft, on both sides. One side is a buttery smooth, dark black crushed velvet & the other side is a (slightly) less dark microfiber type fabric. It pairs very nicely with the velvet, because it’s very soft but not as thick or hot feeling. Side note: The bad reviews with people angrily saying it is a scam because it’s too thin for a comforter, and that it’s false advertisement, made me chuckle. Critical thinking skills and reading context clues should truly be taught in school from a young age.…..yikes. With that said, I had to buy a duvet insert because I was not sure how I could (easily) have a regular comforter stay in place. So, all together, it ran me about $95. To me, that seemed like a lot for just a comforter and 2 pillow cases, so I was starting to have buyers remorse….especially with how difficult it was to situate (faulty duvet insert)…until I snuggled up for bedtime and then it all made sense. Even though I have a queen size bed, I went ahead & got the king size, because I’m a bit hedonistic, and it’s like swimming in an ocean of velvet everytime I get in my bed. Life changing. The ONLY downside that I encountered is the pillow cases being huge and considerably larger than my king size pillows, so I have to do that whole fold over/tuck thingy when I make the bed. And since the pillow cases are so big & do not zip up, the flaps on the inside (to keep the pillow from coming out) are irrelevant. Not a downside but, I found the buttons for the duvet cover to be kinda tricky to figure out at first, but it’s definitely worth doing it that specific way because it makes the bottom seamless. The ONLY thing they should consider changing is to add a zipper for both the duvet and pillowcases. It makes the taking off/putting on process A LOT easier and keeps all the contents A LOT more secure. But that’s not a deal breaker for me, and I would superglue this sucker together if I had to because it’s amazing. ... show more

Soft but not plush as in faux fur version, and the velvet side is on top and not against my skin; I wish the velvet was on both sides so having it with the velvet sheets underneath my nude body envelopes my entire body!

I purchased this based on the other reviewer who pointed out the "Olive Green" is more of a mossy green and not as dark. I prefer this mossy shade to the one in the photo, however if you're looking for the one in the photo please keep this in mind. Not a true olive green as pictured. That being said, I love this duvet cover! I actually have 2 inserts: a king and queen that are inside this Queen cover. Plenty of room so keep that in mind. The underside is more of a cotton/sheet material, which I love. My cat has been a huge fan of this too. I'm normally a hot sleeper, but haven't had any issues with the velvet. I give this a 10/10 and definitely recommend it to others. I'm already planning on getting more colors! ... show more

The color, comfort, and quality are excellent. However, buy a SIZE LARGER. New to having a King bed, the duvet barely covers the standard size king mattress (which means that it looks small - like it is for a queen, won't cover the bed fully, you will tug-of-war with your partner), with the buttons at the bottom sagging a bit and the bed looks less than elegant. This duvet comforter is so beautiful and soft ! And is resistant to my dogs fur , I have a very fluffy duvet insert and it looks so good! Only thing is I wish it was a zipper to insert my duvet filler instead of buttons but overall I love !

The only thing good was the color. Washed upon receipt. Got it out of the dryer in a huge tight knot that took forever to unravel! Placed my comforter inside and immediately knew it was way to big....like 6 inches to big! Buttons won't stay closed...huge pain in the butt! Won't stay on the bed. It migrates to the floor every night. Insert shifts and no amount of flipping (with 2 people) can get it straight again. I am outside my return window UGH! ... show more
