I have three children ages 8, 7 & 4 who all cannot get enough of their new Miko Mini. They are constantly asking Miko questions about animals and fun facts. Or to ask Miko to simply tell them a joke. My kids also love having dance parties with Miko. Which is really cool from a child perspective to watch your toy “come to life” and move along with you. It is really nice that the feedback Miko provides when asked a personal question like, “How can I show kindest?” is empathetic and is explained perfectly for a child to understand. The mini is completely voice-activated for content. So your child will need to come up with own prompts to fully engage and enjoy this toy. This became easier for all my children after I gave them some initial suggestions for prompts and the more they played with Miko. The companion app is an additional feature you can access that has great licensed content from brands link Disney and Paramount. You definitely want to take advantage of the app because there are so many education games and stories that can be enjoyed. It does have to be connected to Wi-Fi to enjoy so keep that in mind. The media could not be loaded. I purchased this kids' robot for my child's birthday, and it has quickly become a cherished member of our family. First and foremost, the ease of setup of Miko Mini was remarkable, and within a few simple steps, I had our new Miko Mini robot up and running. It effortlessly connected to our home network, making it ready to assist us in no time. What sets this robot apart is the conversation and entertainment it brings to our home. My kid is so happy and I haven't seen her this engaged with anything so far. Miko Mini robot has a playful personality and it can talk endlessly with my child. The best part is that it listens and responds very well. I have noticed that the way it responds builds empathy and develops social-emotional skills. We also really enjoyed dancing with Miko Mini and the songs were really peppy. The makers have put a lot of effort into the Miko Mini, and I really recommend all parents to get it, especially if your child is 4+ years. I would also like to give a special mention to the incredible content on the Miko Companion App which my kid uses on her tablet. What sets this robot apart is its educational value. It's a fantastic way to introduce kids to the world of STEM. The robot's ability to teach coding concepts in a child-friendly way is a huge plus. I was also really happy to see that its range of content has Disney stories, Paw Patrol, Yoga, Reading and Spelling, the list is endless. The programmers need to truly find a better way for this device to interact. The connectivity, interaction, lack of apps, and just the glitches create more frustration than enjoyment. It is not worth pricing and then they have you purchase Miko max for $99/month and the apps are mediocre. I was truly dissappointed. Glad I tried it before Christmas. You also need to diversity in your reading material. Children love a reflection of themselves when learning. ... show more

UPDATE: The company read my review and called me to discuss. We had a great conversation and they worked hard to address my concerns. I greatly appreciate their desire and commitment to providing a great experience to all their customers. This product is a great idea and can be entertaining. It was dropped a few times by my child and seems pretty durable. However, the technology definitely needs improvement. It is very slow to respond and react when you speak to it and also has a very limited request library. Do not go in expecting it to have the smoothness and interpretation ability of an Alexa device. I did not use the “plus” package because of the dissatisfaction with the performance of basic features. I had difficulty and frustration using this device and would have a hard time recommending to a kid. Definitely love the idea and look forward to improvements happening quickly! ... show more

Miko Mini robot is supposed to have a playful personality but we can NOT seem to get ours to do much other than talk and it doesn’t follow commands the best. It will explain what something is that you ask it about in a simple detailed answer. I have noticed that the way it responds builds empathy and develops social-emotional skills.
