You are better off to just wrap your aerial rooting project with plastic. The pieces don’t lock together well and the zip ties provided are tiny. The bulb dries out quickly and requires daily maintenance. On the plus side, they didn’t cost much.

These are a pretty neat idea, and I think they will work well. My only issue is if you’re not careful, the dirt will run out of the ball when you water them. I would suggest putting some garage or some thing in the bottom of the ball to prevent this from happening.

I've just started the air-layering process, so I don't know whether it worked for me yet, but the product is great. The plastic is firm and well-molded. It has one black side and one clear side so that there is a window to see the roots through while they are kept in relative darkness. I would prefer if the included zip ties were a bit longer for ease of use, but they fit perfectly. The pod's shape allows for easy watering. I recommend these. Update: The roots are showing! I started it on May 30 and it's now June 14, so it's been about two weeks from start to first visible root growth on a common fig tree. ... show more
