  • Excellent low-cost traveller keyboard controller; highly customizable
Style: 25 Keys
I used to have a 25-key controller from a well-known brand manufacturer that was a great option for recording on the go. After it breaking, I was going to eventually buy a replacement. When given the chance to test out this Synido brand 25-key USB and MIDI keyboard controller, and I have to say that I am very impressed with its versatility and design. First off, Synido literally gives you everything short of a sustain pedal to make this keyboard work. They not only give you a USB-C to A cable to hook up to your computer (and an adapter for USB A-C in case you use a USB C ported laptop), but they also provide a MIDI adapter so you can plug into older model devices with a MIDI in port. In terms of build quality, this thing is super solid. What I love is that it has character and while it has the standard 25-keys, function pads, and rotary controls, it doesn't look like anything else I've seen. It is super compact and while the shiny surface is made of plastic, it feels sturdier than your standard plastic keyboard. The keys themselves are smaller than a standard keyboard but are still very comfortable, velocity sensitive, and play very well. The pads, rotary controllers, and transport controls are also very responsive, and I love that you are provided position information on the rotaries from the display. As a Logic Pro X user, I loved how it was very much plug and play. Of course, you'll have to map the different controllers and pads to your VSTs. But the software the Synido provides in conjunction with your DAW make the process fairly intuitive overall and I didn't find myself struggling to make it work exactly as I wanted it to work. Overall, considering its price and the fact that Synido throws everything including the kitchen sink into the package to make sure you have everything you need, I really can't criticize this keyboard in the least. If you are looking for a reliable, well-functioning, and fully-fleshed out portable keyboard at a very reasonable price and don't want to spend a whole lot of money and time finding other accessories and a bag, this is a fantastic option. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Too good for the price.
Style: 25 Keys
I've been recording since the days of reel-to-reel, so I've seen the prettiest and the ugliest of music tech for a long time now. My go-tos for a MIDI controller have been 49 or 61-key rigs for years. I've played with smaller rigs a bit, but the keys always left me incredibly disappointed. While these certainly aren't full or even mid-size keys, they are not only very well-spaced, but are velocity-sensitive - and for small spring-action keys, they FEEL great. All the controls and pads do too, and the touch-sensitive ribbon-style pitch and mod strips with corresponding lights are a nifty, smooth addition. (more on that at the end) This was my first foray into using a KB controller for more than just keyboard parts, but for controlling my DAW (A VERY old, by choice, version of Studio One) more deeply as well - and I was not disappointed. My DAW instantly recognized The TempoKEY, and I was recording keys, basses, strings and drum parts within 5 minutes - and using the TempoKEY as the transport control on my DAW throughout it all. This little machine is incredibly well-built, with ample controls and a beautiful finish - and it comes with not only everything you need to connect it and get playing, but the nicest little carrying case you could hope for (which is seriously padded to boot). My ONLY little picky performance thing is... I use a pitch wheel - a LOT. Because of the nature of the pitch strip on this, there is no center detente. So when you reach for the pitch strip, you have to hit the center exactly before pulling down or pushing up, or there'll be a teeny jump in pitch. TOTALLY not a deal-breaker. Lastly - It comes with it's own software package, which I installed and tried once, but I honestly didn't need to use it at all, so I haven't formed an opinion. All-in-all, this is an amazing little keyboard/controller. And it is especially nice considering the ridiculously low price point. Synido built this one right. ... show more

  • Good controller
Style: 25 Keys
The keyboard stopped working during an update and I had given a very bad rating, they contacted me and the problem was fixed. Excellent customer service. At this moment the controller it is working well, I don't give the 5 stars because the tempo of the controller does not sync with DAW (I tried with Logic by X and Reaper) ... show more

  • Great midi board for music making on the go
Style: 25 Keys
Small but feature packed. it's great to connect to your laptop and work on your midi while on the go. full featured and highly programable! build quality is very premium and does not feel cheap. Has a good weight to it and the materials used feel smooth and premium.

  • Nice device, however …
Style: Modern
… not really compatible with Ableton (for example) unless you program manually and even then the device light do not follow Ableton’s status. As a drum pad it’s pretty good for the price considering it is pressure sensitive. There are other capabilities which are fun .. but not really much use to me

  • Very versatile, solid USB/MIDI controller
Style: 25 Keys
The media could not be loaded. This is a very versatile MIDI keyboard controller that can be connected to a digital audio workstation via USB or via a MIDI cable. The packaging is extremely nice. On the box itself is a large chart illustrating some of the ways the keyboard can be connected. The keyboard comes with a nice looking vinyl zipped case with shoulder strap and handle. The case has a pocket to hold cables and interfaces. The keyboard itself is solid, and the keys are large enough to feel comfortable playing. Some of the included features are pitch and modulation controllers, an arpeggiator, eight drum pads and eight customizable knobs that are split into two banks. There are also buttons for transposing and changing octaves. A tape controller with fast forward, rewind, play/pause and stop can be mapped to your DAW software via MIDI controllers. The company provides downloadable software that makes it fairly easy to do the mapping if you understand how MIDI works. In the rear of the keyboard is a quarter inch jack for you to insert any standard sustain pedal. This is a well thought out package that gives you a lot for the price. ... show more
