  • Challenging build - Lots of patience required
First off let me say that this is a challenging build. If you’ve never build a 3D metal puzzle before, this is not one you should try first. Second, this will take time to build. It is very unlikely you will finish it in one night. This one took me about 3-4 weeks to complete. Lastly get the right tools. I cannot emphasize how much having the right tools has an effect on the assembly. Having said all that, this model is very detailed and contains many small pieces. It’s best to have a nice and clean working area to do the work. Microworld uses a thicker metal for their models, so it is harder to bend and shape right compared to others such as Piececool, Metal Earth, MU, etc. However, I find that the models are a little more sturdier because of it. The model itself is very nice, very Zoids-like. The paint does flake off on the edges, but I like that because it gives it a weathered look. I did enjoy building this model, even though it was a pain to put together. I do recommend taking your time with it, at the very least it’ll save your sanity. ... show more

  • More advanced level Puzzle
My 16 yr old grand daughter loves puzzles and she found this to be very hard to put together though it said it was a good level for teens.

  • Fun Yet Difficult Build
If your looking for a challenge, look no further than the Microworld 3D metal puzzles. This mechanical hornet is a totally awesome kit. It is 151 foldable, bendable, and playable pieces of thin grade metal that piece together to make a stunning tiny sculpture that is around 4x5 inches. Relieve stress and enjoy your weekend with this model kit that doubles as home decor full of exquisite details. ... show more

  • Very complicated. Almost impossible to build because parts are stramped into very thin metal.
Parts are stamped into very thin metal. Getting them out bends them. Worthless.

  • Some of the parts didnt fit right
Loved it once finished, but some parts did not fit properly and had to be finagled quite a bit in order for the model to be built.

  • Not as skilled as I thought
The item is cool but I don’t have the skills to assemble it. I had thought it would be good practice before tackling the warewolf puzzle but I can’t complete either. I’m giving the two puzzles to my Son if he likes the hornet I sent to him. I figured if a 14 year old can do it so can I but I was wrong.Kudos to the masters of these types of puzzles they are really cool. ... show more

  • Dragon challenge
My husband loves it. Very challenging. Recommend a magnifying glass. Parts are small. Worth the challenge of putting it together

  • More difficult then listed on box.
So maybe it's just the models I received, but the metal is significantly thicker then the other models from microworld I've put together. To the point where it was fairly difficult to even bend on the larger pieces. And trying to bend the smaller folds and clyndrical pieces was practically impossible. The head was of course the most difficult and first part of the model like most from this brand. I think I counted like 15 bends to figure out, different angles, trying to make them all line pu and fit for the rest of the head and thorax really tested my patience. And I have all the various advanced tools for building these. This is more an 8-9 difficulity, they base most of the difficulity on the number of pieces and while this is on the lower end of the spectrum the difficult of assembly raises it significantly. UPDATE: Finally got it as done as I can. Then only parts that I could not get on are the wings which go on last. those attachments are practically impossible so I have a wingless bee. I could just glue it but I refuse to do that, it needs a remodel. ... show more
