I bought this for the sturdy looking design, and modern appearance it provides. A mic stand is a mic stand, but some are more appealing than others. I think the design is kept minimal and stronger by the use of an Allen Wrench to tighten it. Sure, they could add plastic tabs (metal would be best) in order to twist by hand, but it may not be as strong. I don't mind the wrench settings, but I can see where people would rather have twist knobs. The only design flaw is the riser tube. It doesn't have a screw to keep it steady. It's not going to lift the arm out of it unless forced upward, but it would be nice to have it set, especially if you're using expensive mics on this. I don't use the riser. You could, theoretically, drill a small hole away in it and use a flat sided bolt to tighten the mic arm yourself. Either way, it works, but it's not necessary to use. I appreciate that it's an option that's included though. Sometimes you need that extra bit of space to work. I don't like the writing on the arm at all, it's tacky. I wish foreign brands would realize that their names are unprofessional, cheesy, and detract from products. i pass up so many buys because of the name stamped on the item, lol. This can be covered by the included velcro for the wires. You may be able to fully remove it with lacquer thinner (as I do with other branded items on Amazon) but I haven't tried it yet. Boom is very fabricated very clean. Holds quadcast mic with ease! Could see the extender bending, Easy to prevent if reinforced before failure. Also only slips in with no tightening mechanism, simple fix, drill hole and add bolt to tighten. Equipped mine with rgb as well. Going to replace boom arms nuts and bolts for longer bolts and wing nuts. ... show more

This stand is very well made. It’s easy to put together and it is sturdy. I have this mounted to a sit/stand type of desk and it gets a lot of movement, but the placement of where I started hasn’t changed in terms of the joints or movement of place. The media could not be loaded. Pros: +Cheap price point for a durable stand. +Nice matte black finish. +The adjustment tool is comfortable to use. +Comes with an extension bar for a floating mic setup Cons: -Paint chipped easily during the assembling. -The extension bar had to be stripped of paint in order to fit in the housing. -I use a Yeti Classic mic and the swiveling joint on the arm cannot support the weight very well. -Adjusting the arm REQUIRED me to use the tool due to the heavier mic. I could not leave the joints loose to easily adjust them due to the weight making minor adjustments tedious. In conclusion: I wouldn’t recommend it for heavier microphone users. If the price point is what matters more to you it’s not bad for the cost and if you have a lightweight microphone then I’d say this is a great mic arm for you. ... show more

I love this mic stand, but I have a snow ball mic that weighs it down. I have adjusted the hinge screws as much as I could without them completely staying in place, and my snowball mic continues to slowly lower the Mic end of this mount. There is a product picture of this being out-stretched all the way, which is what sold me on this. Now that I have this and have been using it for a while, I can confidently say that the image was photoshopped, or the mic on the end of the mount is not heavy at all. with all that being said, I still think this is a great mic stand and would cautiously recommend this product depending on what kind of mic you have. ... show more

Terrible quality and a waste of money. Poorly designed. It says even with a very lightweight microphone attached. No springs or counter weight system whatsoever. It is only good if you tighten it as much as possible and never have to move it. Ugly logo on the side. Save up and get a good product that will perform well and last, don’t buy this. ... show more

I'm using them on a pair of old Oktava MK-319s. The fit is a little snug (the 319s are beefy) but they go on. They do a great job at controlling plosives. The 319 has a mesh basket around an otherwise exposed capsule so with no protection they're naturally very prone to pops but these filters cut it right down. I will probably buy more. ... show more
