I really like the utility of this product - I've used these on multiple jigs in my shop. The specialty bit that you can buy from Micro-Jig to cut the dovetails for this clamp is also better than a standard dovetail for this purpose of use. I honestly think that they are overpriced, however, for what you get. In the end, it's just a screw clamp with one end forged to fit in a standard dovetail. There are a number of competitors entering the market that price them for a third of the cost, and those new entrants are of good enough quality to get the job done. I have several, and I use them interchangeably with the Micro-jig clamps. They are also compatible with the slots I cut with the Micro-jig dovetail bit, as well as those cut by any other standard dovetail bit. ... show more

I need to make some long 4' shims for a window on my table saw. these clamps will safely make this possible. I have known about tapering jigs but could not decide which one would work best for me. I first saw the set up on the you tube channel 731 woodworks and knew this was what I wanted. check it out. Anyone who owns a table saw should have a tapering jig, my first set I got from amazon came with a tape up padded envelope , One clamp was missing one . the package had opened up in shipping. I called amazon customer service. they had another one at my usps po box the next afternoon. a pain in the butt but Now I have 3 clamps total .
