I have been wearing Merrell Moab's 2 since 2016 and loved them. The only thing I wished they would change was the tread pattern and now with the Moab 3 they did!! If you know the older model you know it was not super great in wet slippery weather. They way the old tread pattern was made you feel a bit unstable over like wet logs or rocks. They have finally listened to their customers and made like actual boot aggressive (but not too aggressive) tread blocks on the bottom and it has been a game changer. It keeps all the classic traits of keeping your feet cool with the vents and so comfortable, but now has a really good grip and I think they have made the best shoe ever with this model. Honestly the best shoe I have ever worn. I bought the Merrell Moab 2 in 2020. Used them for hiking, work, day-to-day activities. You name it. Those shoes lasted me all the way til now. And honestly theyre still in great shape, you can just tell the Soles are worn. So I went ahead and purchased the 3's to replace them. They are JUST as comfortable, and fit me straight out of the box. No need for any kind of uncomfortable "break in" period or anything. I normally use Keen hiking shoes but thought I'd give these a try for the price. They're quite light weight, which is nice in some ways, but also not as good at protecting one's foot from sharp rocks, stick pokes, or snow/cold. If the outside gets wet, you feel the chill right away on the inside. Note, I didn't say your feet get wet, but if it's slush or wet snow, you feel the cold right away in the toes. Still, I think they are fine for fair weather use on maintained trails. The 11.5 size I got fit just a tiny bit small but still within what I would call a normal men's 11.5 US - just don't plan on wearing heavy socks if you're a true 11.5. ... show more

I’ve had these Moab 2’s in the past and they have always held up better than other hiking shoes I’ve owned. I generally wear a 9.5 in most shoes but felt I could use a little more room in the toe so I ordered a 10. Fit was comfortable as expected.

These are excelent WALKING shoes on flat ground. On the hand hand they are NOT good hiking shoes as my last pair were. Several times I've twisted my ankle on slight hills. The soles seem to be a bit high while the material holding your foot in place are not is strong as my last hiking shoes. Still good shoes walking but not for hiking. ... show more
