I really wanted a good espresso maker but have been spoiled by the ease and no mess of Nespresso machines but hated being tied to pods. I had a manual machine that made really good espresso but missed the speed of Nespresso and I seemed to be a klutz in the morning and inevitably made a mess. I longed for a Jura but they are outside of my budget. I eyed this machine for a while and reviews were mostly positive but I had never heard of the brand. I can tell you this machine is the real deal. I bought the straight machine without the frother and it's great. It's sturdy and well made and well thought out. The espresso has a beautiful crema and you are able to adjust temperature and ounces. I was nervous that the lungo shot would be weak but no, it was perfect and it too had a beautiful crema. I love that the alerts to empty the drip and spent coffee seem to not go off as frequently as others I have had and resume brewing unlike others that do not and waste beans. I'm finishing up with ok beans and it's very good. I will be heading to my local roaster and I can't wait because this baby is going to be freaking awesome and having been disappointed with some of my recent purchases , I can say this is one purchase that knocked it outta the park! This is the best self grinding coffee machine I own. It is simple to use and easy to maintain. I like the option to use whole beans or coffee grounds. I has a large water tank allowing several cups to be made before refilling is necessary.

Just received the ME-715 and got it ready to use. The instructions are fairly lacking, be warned. I wanted to know how to make a regular cup of coffee, not espresso, but I couldn't find the information anywhere. Online videos are still pretty sparse at this point. I finally figured out that WHILE THE UNIT IS BREWING and dispensing coffee, you can rotate the main dial to choose the number of milliliters it will brew. A standard American cup of coffee is about 250 ml, which is the max the unit will produce. My initial impressions of the machine are mostly positive. It's not obnoxiously loud, and so far produces good coffee and/or espresso, but you'll need to set the grind, bean strength and temperature to your liking. I DO NOT like how short the coffee dispensing area is, you can only fit smaller cups underneath. Also, for those of you thinking it can brew two cups at once, it can't. There's not enough room for two cups. I guess you could hit the bean-brew button twice, and quickly switch cups after the first one has brewed. I think I'll like this machine IF it holds up, though. Had a Tchibo, but it kept breaking. UPDATE May 7, 2023 The original machine we bought started malfunctioning, only grinding beans for a second or two, never filling the brew cup and dumping the dry grounds inside the machine. Replaced the unit through Amazon, and have had the new one for a few days now. So far it's working fine. I'm a little worried about the longevity of this machine. ... show more

Not for people wanting eXpresso, LAHtaze, or any form of AmeriCAN-no. Single shot or double shot only. Not super hot, but doesn’t burn. Easy enough to accustomed to quads. Go ahead. Grinder is not conducive to your morning-after bender-induced super-hearing but ok for the daily grind… literally! Much quieter than a public school at 3pm. ... show more

Excelente, fácil de usar y limpiar. El café queda muy bien. Actualización mayo 2023: Ya llevo 300 tazas preparadas y todo bien, con su respectivo mantenimiento de limpieza. En alguna ocasión me apareció un Menú con opcion "Power" y "Flow" no recuerdo la configuración pero creo tenía " Powder +8" y "Flow +2", no se porqué apareció ese menú, solo di click en ESC para regresar a la preparación de café. Investigue y es para ajustar la cantidad de café y volumen de agua. Realmente no moví nada así que aún debe seguir con la configuración preestablecida de fabrica, en el manual hay opción de entrar a ese menú pero lo intente y no pude acceder después de varios intentos sin éxito. Realmente no sé porque me apareció. Espero no sea un problema posteriormente, sin embargo no tengo ninguna queja con la máquina hasta el momento.     • Best Brew for the Buck!

Had a Starbucks Expresso machine for 15 years. It served its purpose but had things I just never used. The Merol without the Milk Frother Steam Wand seemed to be the less complicated expresso machine. To me the less functions means the less that can go wrong with the machine. My old Starbucks machine was internally very complicated with a lot of rubber fittings and gaskets that began leaking and plastic hinges that wouldn't shut properly thus the sensors wouldn't allow the machine to work. I had it repaired once and it was going to need a simular, expensive repair. This expresso only, Merol machine is simpler and gives me what I want. A good cup of expresso every morning. Yes I realize that the Merol machine with all the functions was only $10 more, but it had a bigger footprint and functions that I would never use. ... show more
