    • A Match Made In Heaven With Feather Blades
I have tried 3 different Razors using the Super Sharpe Feather Blades, and the only Razor that would leave me without a Bloody neck was a Adjustable $75.00 Merkur Futur, which I had to use on the lowest setting with poor results, Anyways I read all the reviews on this 23C, and I could not be happier with the results and close shave I got using a Feather Blade, The only thing I would like to see is the same model with a Fatter Handle for my Fat OLD hand, But I can live with it, I have 3 other Brands of Blades I'm going to try in it, and I will get back with and update on how they work out in the near future. OK, here are the 4 other brand I Blades I tried in this razor besides the Feather. (1) I tried the BIC Chrome Platinum and got a decent shave, but I needed to go over 2 additional times to get it close. (2) (RAPIRA Chrome Platinum), my Go To Blade in my other razors was a Big Dud in this razor, It wouldn't even get close to the Skin and left a slight Stubble. (3) (BlueBird Chrome Ceramic Tungsten Platinum with Polymer Edges), Complete Dud I would like to add one thing I noticed about all the above Blades that I tried in this razor, the ones that were Duds or wouldn't give be a good close shave, Seemed to be shorter in Width then the Feather Blades, which means less of the Blade was showing (Exposed), the Feather Blade had much more of the Blade exposed, which gives a closer shave. ... show more

    • Long lasting quality
I've had this razor for three years now and couldn't be happier. I bought this because my skin is so sensitive that I can't use dull razors (thus needed to by new ones often), and I was tired of paying so much money for temporary plastic razors that end up in a landfill. Once I got used to using a safety razor, this has been an amazingly cost-effective and environmentally friendly purchase for me. Good for sensitive skin (I limit shaving to once a week at most), and it doesn't rust (I reapply a layer of petroleum jelly to the connecting parts about once or twice a year). ... show more

    • Changed shaving with a safety razor
I have sensitive skin and used a cheap free razor from a company and it was rough and terrible but had a close shave and this razor was my upgrade and it was super smooth and had a perfect shave. MUST HAVE FOR SHAVING

    • 2nd Safety Razor.. By far, this is the best.
My last safety razor was shredding my face. I did not experience tugging or catching when I had not shaved for five days. I then used it for consecutive days and can say it still works great. I already recommended it to my friend after 3 shaves.

    • Never going back to disposable razors
I was using cheap multi blade disposable plastic razors before, but after using this for a fee months now, I will never go back. This thing so far has been great. Quality is good for the price. Definitely recommend for a first double edged razor handle.

    • Great for beginners
My first safety razor was a Van Der Hagen, and I nicked myself every time until I got the hang of it. You definitely need to use shorter, lighter strokes when shaving with a safety razor and let the weight of it be the only pressure you use. Even after I got the hang of it however, it was still giving me a less than ideal shave, so I decided to try this Merkur with a longer handle. I wasn't disappointed! The safety bar really makes it easy to get the correct angle, and even if you use a heavier hand than recommended, it's still difficult to hurt yourself. I bought a sample pack of different brands of razor blades to experiment and figure out which blades work best for me and I recommend doing that if you've never used a safety razor before. Please note: The first one I ordered here ("ships from and fulfilled by Amazon") but was sent a different Merkur model with a short handle and it came USED in a Ziploc sandwich baggie even though I ordered a new one. Eew. I returned it, and ordered from a different website entirely, but the accessories for it I did order on Amazon with no problem: sampler pack of blades, alum bar, shave soap dish, shave brush and metal stand for the brush and razor. ... show more

    • Not really as good as the original Merkur.
I was pretty excited to use this razor as I had just returned the Viking due to a short handle. Guess what, the $20.00 Viking is a lot better than this razor. Though it says Long Handle, the handle is not really long. What I liked. This razor has a good firm grip. Any standard double edged blade will fit in the razor. What I didn't like. When you buy this razor, they send you just 1 blade. I was not able to get a nice clean shave. The long handle isn't really long. In most razors, you start twisting the handle and a butterfly opening will reveal the space where you load the blade. Not in this one. You have to actually take apart the top from the handle to load the blade. I am going to try the Henson AL 13 next. ... show more

    • Well crafted and worth the money
Gorgeous razor. Incredibly build quality and easy to clean and disassemble/reassemble. Definitely a razor that is worth the money and is going to last you a long time, if not a lifetime of properly cared for. This may not be for everyone, though. Your mileage may vary. For me, I got a lot of cuts with this razor handle when I first started, granted a lot less than my previous one (but that could also be part of my terrible technique lol). Ultimately, I switched over to the Leaf Razor because I just discovered safety razors (at least those with this type of build) wasn’t for me and I preferred a hybrid of the safety razor blades and the cartridge razor handle. But, I will always keep this on the side with me. This is an excellent razor, so definitely give it a shot. If this doesn’t work, or if you find frustrations with safety razors, try out the Leaf one, you may like that. ... show more
