There are a few things you should know before buying this bed. Once it is built it looks beautiful but it is very difficult to build. Pay attention when it tells you that you need four people to build it. My husband and I built it together with great difficulty. It is EXTREMELY heavy jn general but it’s problematic because it is very top heavy so when you build the Murphy portion of the bed, it wants to tilt over. I had to hold it up while my husband attached things. The other major thing to note is that most standard roofs are 7-8 ft tall ours is 8 ft. This bed is 8.08 ft tall. That was my fault for not noticing the height (I was more worried about the mattress depth and the width) however, we were able to make it work by not adding the molding on top. Please make sure you anchor this bed into studs. We tried to use the brackets it came with and they really aren’t strong enough to hold the bed up alone. We ended up using a stud finder to screw into the studs along the back and used the brackets it came with for extra security. We have small children and wanted to ensure safety. The bed is beautiful once built and works very well to hold a 12 inch mattress. It will not hold anything thicker. Overall, we are happy with it but it was a bear to build and secure.
