Better than fancy feast. Fancy feast is more expensive only because the brand spends a lot on promotion, packaging and advertising. Both FF and MM use fake rubbery protein, which smart cats quickly learn to avoid (unless they are super hungry). They lap up the sauce and leave the rest behind. The sauce contains the good stuff like taurine and other cats' specific vitamins and minerals. I make sure I give one cup a day, because I feed my cat real food (human quality fish/poultry, some meet for less than $2/lb) and I don't want to bother with amounts and proportions of minerals/vitamins I should add. And so yes, I have plenty of experience with both Meow Mix and Fancy Feast and both me and my cat find Meow Mix a better quality. ... show more

I purchased 3 boxes of the Meow Mix wet food in individual sealed cups. The service was very good and shipping was quick with no problems. The food, how ever, was not the quality I normally received. It had very little chunks of food and was mostly a very liquid consistency. My daughter’s cat is extremely picky when it comes to food. This brand and product in this flavor is the only thing he will eat. He would not touch this food. We tried food from each of the three boxes and found them all to have the same consistency. He refused to touch any of it. The only saving grace was that one of our foster mommas seem to enjoy it along with her three new babies. All of the food was consumed but not by the cat that it was intended for. It honestly didn’t even smell the same. I checked the expiration date and all were well within the time of freshness. We've been feeding my cats this for year. It doesn't smell great, you're going to want to wash the dishes out after a use if you don't have a dog licking them clean -- but the cats love it.
