So, here's my take on this. I was hesitant to buy because, well, this isn't like a single tube of these things. Its a case. How would I get rid of them if they weren't any good? But I loved them! I agree they aren't as sweet as black jelly beans, but they sure aren't like the non-sweet licorice you find in Europe. They were 75% the way to jelly bean. What I liked was the sharp crunch of the bite. The shell of the jelly bean is, after all, where the flavor is, and the shell of these is great! mmmmm - mentos - in licorice. Chewy wonderful licorice goodness. Very awesome, and it is impossible to eat just one... I have only one request though - please, please do not ever play that cheesy Mentos commercial from the 80's (or 90's?) again with everyone saying "Mentos.... the FRESHmaker" while then giving a dorky thumbs up with the roll of candy. The sheer dork factor of that commercial was almost enough for me to never ever buy their product. But being that I'm part Dutch, I have a soft spot for licorice, especially if it's Dutch. This is hands-down the best Mentos flavor out there. Shame it is near impossible to find here. ... show more

This item was old the candy was so hard you could not even eat it. Too top it off Amazon said it could be returned if it was defective or I could get a replacement yet after trying for over 30 minutes I just gave up

If you like licorice, try them. Everyone who has accepted one as an offer has said "Hey, that's really good. Where did you find them?". Menthos has two flavors I like that being Spearmint and this Licorice. The Peppermint is okay, but I am happy they these are available through Amazon. No one has ever turned one down after they tried one. Get these marketed and they will outsell all other Menthos offerings.If you like Licorice I think you will be surprised, pleasantly surprised. ... show more

This licorice mento is excellent after any meal. It settles the stomach but has an excellent licorice flavor. They are hard to find so Amazon comes through!
