Most peg board sets are pretty similar with hook types. This set has all of the expected basics you need to set up an organization system, but it also has a unique paper towel rack and wire shelf that compliment the usual fittings. In addition, the plastic bins are a bit more sturdy than most. The bins are also unique in that most I've seen have plastic hooks built in while these use a metal fitting to support the bin. Very nice upgrade. The set includes rubber inserts to help keep the pegs in place and dampen their motion when setting or removing tools. The wire feels thinner than my last order, but they are chrome plated and looks much prettier. I just got them and do not know how they resist rust, and they are sturdy enough.

I got the assorted pack that contained 80 little rubber pieces that fit into the peg board hole before inserting a hook. They work great. Keeps hooks from yanking off of the board so easily. I guess you can't just buy those Lil locks from here...another site sells similar ones at 20 cents each, I got 50 for $10............ So 80 of them wouldvve $16, and that's what I paid for the whole hook set. Looks like I'll have plenty of hooks left over... ... show more

    • Pretty decent, if basic, pegboard set

I'm a sucker for a good pegboard organization scheme. These pegs aren't exactly going to revolutionize pegboards, but they do bring one nice innovation to the table (as well as one minor frustration). The Good: The variety of pegs is pretty good. The only types I wish it had are longer single pegs (like a 10-inch length), and the double pegs, for hanging hammers and whatnot. But what's here is pretty good, and there are plenty of them for the price. My favorite thing is also sort of my least favorite, however. The black plastic bins are a much better design than the other plastic bins I've used in the past. Making the hooks metal instead of plastic was a great idea. I'm not super excited about the "some assembly required" aspect, however. The Bad: There are no heavy-duty hooks, but that's not what it claims to be, so no stars off for that. The most frustrating part is the "some assembly required" part. Not only do you have to assemble the plastic bins, but you also have to put all the little rubber ends on the straight pegs. That's the manipulation of small pieces and delicate manual work. I'm not a fan. Plus, it slows everything down. The Meh: I'm not a big fan of the "multi-tool rack" pegs. I never seem to have anything that fits on them. And the peg locks are frustrating too. They make the pegs stick out at weird angles when there's not tools hanging on them, and they aren't really that solid of a "lock" either. I only use them when I don't have the space to use a different type (the plastic hook ones that lock into the wholes on either side of the peg. They take up more room, but they actually lock the peg down). Overall, this is a nice starter set of peg hooks that can be supplemented by purchasing individual hooks that you still need for specific purposes. I like it. ... show more
