    • What's not to love?
First impressions are important. We often love or hate garments like this when we first receive them, or feel somewhat hesitant and undecided whether to keep or return. Not this coat, and I consider myself very picky. I'm older and us older guys can run 'cold'. This is a very warm and comfortable coat. For that alone it checks the boxes. The hood is removable, the fur on the hood is removable, the sleeves are neither too long nor short, but the tapered cuffs are designed to stay recessed. There is pinning (sewing) to keep them there and it may be intended to be easily freed if you want the sleeve to extend, but I like mine recessed. The length is as advertised. I've read complaints about the pockets, They could be a bit bigger but they are sufficient sufficient for the hands, keys, etc. It includes an inner pocket for a phone. I'd like to see it come with a larger pocked below that, like I have on several other jackets, for larger things, like gloves, a stocking hat or maybe something like a pint of spirited beverage. The zipper isn't undersized and unzips from top and bottom. It also has snap buttons so you don't have to always use a zipper. I usually buy XL, but technically I'd be a large if I tolerated tighter fitting things around my shoulders. The XL suits me fine at 5' 9" and 180 lbs, with layers underneath. Some have mentioned it's weight, it is considerable, but you won't know it once you are wearing it and when you step out into the cold, you won't care about pesky nit-pickin details.     • Not what I expected

I was looking for a warm winter puffy jacket. I thought this would work and I liked the look and the price and generally popular review (was a Amazon pick). First I was surprised by the weight (4.9 lbs), next by the coat's bulk which is the result of its thickness. I am 5' 10' , 135 lbs and yet coat fits tightly on my arms and very tight when I left my arms upwards. This tightness probably helps with heat retention, but the coat fits very lose around the rest of my body. Switching to a medium size would help on waist but probably make arms so tight I could not move them easily. I am still trying to make up my mind if I will keep it. So far I have only tried it on once for a few minutes. I like the way it looks it is just weight and tightness of the arms I do not like. Update: decided to keep it based a a coldness test: it was by far the warmest of my existing jackets. The fact I could not fit it back in the box after taking it out of its vacuum bag (it came in and I accidently throw out) was also a factor. I ended up buying another coat that is very similar but weights just 2.2.lbs ( Columbia's Salzman down parka) which was on sale for $100 (I paid $85 after signing up as a Columbia Rewards member which gave me 15% of on my first order and free shipping). Its listed retail price was $290, both jackets look the similar and are of equal warmth (as far as I can tell). The down one I will wear in good weather and the other when wet weather is possible since it is synthetic installation and will keep its warmth even when wet while the down will not. ... show more

My son in law had no winter coat! The ones he had weren’t in the best condition. So I looked through what Amazon had to offer. This seemed the best with the positive reviews. The media could not be loaded. I know this is a jacket for men and that I am not but the fit is hilariously bad. It’s very warm and a nice jacket but the arms are crazy long and it’s very big around the shoulders. The hood is also made for someone who has a big head like George Lopez or somethin.

For the good: It is quite a bit better than I was expecting for the price. It is warm. I am 5'11", 170 lbs and a LARGE fits well with sweaters underneath. If I were much bigger guy, it would be too small. It comes down to mid-butt. Stitching looks fine on mine. For the bad: Pockets are placed weird. Fur hood looks cheap and fits odd.
