I never write reviews this long, but i want to save any potential reader from making some of my mistakes... so if you get this, please read. I bought the 10x20 in white. Love the look of it and the quality is exceptional, and would definitely buy again. Assembly is challenging, but with something like this... i mean... of course it is. It comes on a truck in 7 large boxes so its not like i believed that it was going to be a minimally invasive assembly process. Btw, the instructions are in one of these boxes. Its a bit of a game figuring out which one they're in and where. My one gripe is the instructions have some ambiguity in places so study them and the little details in the pictures carefully. At some points flipping back to the picture on the front helps. Advice: 1. Open every box and lay out all the pieces before you do anything else. Some of the brackets are tucked away in places that are hard to see, or placed inside of the some of the hollow pieces so you wont see them unless you open the entire thing and look. 2. EVERY SINGLE panel / flat surface has protective tape on it. My wife was the tape remover. As we were about to need certain pieces she'd run ahead and pull the tape off so my FIL and I could grab it and go when we needed. It took a bit for us to get that part down and gave ourselves some heartburn later on. Once some pieces are assembled the protective tape is a lot harder to remove. Its good the tape is there, its just a considerable amount of time to get it all off and can slow assembly down if you dont have a plan for it. The tape ended up filling a 55 gallon trash can in the end, so as i said, its A LOT of tape. 3. Have 3 sets of hands when you go to put the top section on the posts. 2 CAN do it, but min. 3 is best. Maybe 4. 4. Once all posts are installed and the top frame is in the air, put the post bases on, THEN level the posts and make positional adjustments on where you want the thing to live forever. Mark the ground where you have the post bases. The later parts of assembly caused the posts to move some so if i had marked the ground, inching the post bases back to where i had them would have been easier. If the spacing on them isnt quite right the screens going up and down wont stay in the tracks. Tweaking all that at the end to get everything back how i had it was a bit tricky. Not terrible, but took some time. 5. When installing the louvers, turn the pivots to about a 3/4 open position. This makes getting to both set screw holes much easier and you can do them both at one time. The part of the louver that goes into the pivot has a metal tear drop shaped piece inside. The other end does not. Which side of the louver that faces up does matter, the drawings in the instructions have a couple subtle indications of what that is so study them closely. If i had known all these things from the start i probably could have shaved 1-2 hours off of the assembly process. If you buy, hope you enjoy. We certainly are. ... show more

I really like the finished product, overall I am very happy with the finished construction. 1. This will ship in multiple (somewhat heavy) boxes. They may not all arrive on the same day and you need to be home to sign for the packages (took us three days over the course of a week before we had everything) 2. Assembly is relatively easy but I highly recommend getting your own tools (rubber mallet, an electric screw driver/ low torque hand drill with an allen bit). I did have to gently coax a few of the pieces together and if I used the allen wrenches and screwdriver supplied with the kit then I would still be putting this thing together. 3. Do not skip the glue step (you will know it when you see it) and dont be afraid to add extra at all the seams to prevent leakage ... show more

I'm in love. This pergola is beautiful and modern. The fact that you can open and close the panels is so awesome. It provides so much shade and makes Mt tiny backyard look like a hotel. Amazing customer service too. I had an issue that they resolved immediately.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and appearance. The louvers in the top work great and completely block the sunlight when closed. The structure itself is very solid and attractive. Assembly took 2 professionals about 8 hours to complete. The curtains are a little flimsy and aren’t weighted enough on the bottom, so the blow easily in the breeze. They are also transparent, not a negative just didn’t appear that way in the photos. I’m going to be adding thicker solid curtains to the back to block street noise. The media could not be loaded. Fantastic customer service. Contacted me every few days with an update on shipment (freight). Had a few minor items that were damaged that I am waiting to hear from the company to replace. They were minor and based on their customer service so far I am not worried. My wife and I assembled this ourselves just the 2 of us. We did build it in 1/2 vs entire 12x16. Also I painted all the SS screws black with automotive touch up paint because I was not a fan of the silver. I also added smoked light channels and led strip lights to the gutters along with a power strip. This mostly was due to the fact LED strip lights don’t stay in place in the direct sun. I did not use their large concrete anchors for my pavers instead I went with tapcons. Overall this has yet to leak a drop on our patio set. Making it very easy so we don’t have to carry the cushions inside everytime we are done with them. We do live in NYS and I have no doubt in the winter if I open the louvers there will not be an issue with snow buildup. As an engineer I am impressed with how well its built for the money. An American made product similar to this with 1/8” wall extruded aluminum is about 25-35k. Not $3599. We’re talking a factor of 10x more here. Overall this is a nice product and yes $3599 seems expensive but it really is not. We also had pretty high wind gusts around 35mph and I have yet to see a problem. Snow load, won’t do it. 2500lbs is about a few inches at best. Leave the louvers open in the winter if your in a snow belt area. ... show more
