  • Great tasting coffee without the hassle
My husband and I like coffee - hot, brown and plenty of it. We’re not coffee snobs, it just has to be good. We own a Technivorm Moccamaster because it makes great coffee and is NOT made in China. We wanted a coffee maker for our camper that was small, lightweight, easy to use, easy to clean, and made good coffee - enter the Melitta Ready Set Joe pour over brewing cone. If you’re anything like me and you’ve watched any of the YouTube videos for instructions on how to make pour over coffee, you were probably ready to give up before you started. You don’t need the most expensive coffee beans, a digital scale, a burr grinder, an instant read thermometer, or a digital timer…good coffee doesn’t need to be complicated. Here’s my EASY method to make delicious coffee for two: Bring 20 ounces of fresh water to a boil. Turn off heat and allow water to sit for a minute while you get your “equipment” ready. Place a #2 coffee filter in the Melitta brewing cone Add 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 coffee scoops of your favorite ground coffee to the filter Place the brewing cone over a 20 ounce insulated travel tumbler or something similar. (The insulated tumbler will help keep your coffee hot while you pour - I use this one: https://www.amazon.com/your-orders/pop/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_pop?_encoding=UTF8&gen=canonical&lineItemId=mjmpqqhtpinvony&orderId=111-2672144-5419436&packageId=1&returnSummaryId=&returnUnitIndices=&returnUnitMappingId=&shipmentId=DklgHrjFq) Pour enough of the boiled water over the coffee grounds to almost fill the cone - allow this water to soak the grounds and drip into the tumbler. Continue pouring the remaining water over grounds slowly until the tumbler is almost full. Now go pour your freshly brewed hot delicious coffee into two mugs or cups of your choice, add cream and sweetener if desired, and enjoy. ... show more

  • Jules should have this...
Let me confess. I am a huge coffee drinker. I love the stuff. Love the taste and helps me start out the day. I drink it black. I won't defile it by adding sugar or cream. You can if you want, not me. Not judging, though(LOL). I just want to taste "coffee". Well, because I take it straight, I need and want it to taste the best it can. Lately, my coffee machine has been letting me down. Big time. Either my liquid gold was getting burned or not cooked enough. Nasty stuff, coffee, if you don't make it right. The time came. I started to look around for a new maker. And this is how I came across this individual cup maker. This is my first individual coffee maker/dripper. I am very impressed. Best homemade coffee I've had in a while! And, I don't even use the Ultra-Gourmet stuff like Jules does(Pulp Fiction). It is very easy to use, and makes a great individual cup of magic. The word here is "individual", though. Don't try and makes 4, 5, 6 cups, because you'll be in the kitchen forever. But, if you want a great individual cup of warm hugs and kisses. This is it, man! Great tasting coffee. Easy to make and clean. Making my own individual cup. It feels so intimate. This relationship is going to last forever...and ever...and ever... P.S. Grind your own coffee, if you have the time. Tastes better. ... show more

  • Best price for a coffee pour over
The prices of coffee pour-overs are pretty surprising to me. This one is the cheapest, it's unbreakable ( a big plus for clumsy me ) and it works great. I only have one or two mugs of coffee in the morning so having a coffee machine made less and less sense to me. I had 2 Keurigs but they both broke after a year ( cheap merchandise ! for big money ) but while they worked I was essentially paying $ 45 - $ 60 a pound for coffee in little plastic cups. It's madness. I can make a rich cup of coffee in my 15 oz. mug for the price of a tablespoon or so of coffee and a #2 coffee filter. I'm glad I made the switch to pour over coffee brewing and I'm glad I didn't pay for a heavy crockery pour-over thing at $25 . Instead I bought 2 Melitas on special for $12. One for me and one for my daughter. ... show more

  • Unstable! I Miss the Old Design!
I've used the cheap plastic Melita coffee pour-over cones for years and loved them! The cheap things made a great cup of coffee and lasted years! Haven't been able to find the exact same one recently when mine finally cracked all the way through, so I ordered these. Same brand, "new & improved" design, great price... what could be bad about that? Well... I'll tell you.🤦♀️ This new design—while it looks kind of cool—qualifies as a natural disaster in my book. The new design is *SUPPOSED* to give you a sort of "window" near the bottom to see how full your coffee mug is without lifting it up to see. But what it *actually* does us make the most UNSTABLE, LOPSIDED, TOP HEAVY pour-over coffee cone in the history of mankind. Hate it. Hate it. Hate. It. One side of the cone is LONGER AND HEAVIER than the other. It's very design "improvement" is the worst thing about it. Making coffee before I've HAD any coffee can be... uhhhh... "challenging" under the best circumstances. The last thing I need while *making* coffee is a lopsided tipsy thing that's that's easily knocked over (or occasionally tips over on its own due to uneven weight distribution once you've added scalding hot water 😑). Oh yeah... and the ridge or "lip" on the bottom side that's meant to fit around the outside opening of your mug securely... it doesn't fit ANY mug I have. (And I have a LOT of coffee mugs! 🤭) It's an odd size & shape. Whomever approved this design change should be drawn and quartered. I've tried all kinds of tricks to keep the damn thing ON top of my mug. It's like babysitting, but for coffee. So for now I'm using my old Melita pour-over cone that's duct taped together (because reasons) until I can find the old model or a suitable, less dangerous replacement. It's not the seller's fault. My order arrived quickly and in great condition.👍 It's MELITA'S fault for "improving" a design that didn't need fixing. At all. Ever. 👎 ... show more
