The mat is smaller than was envisioned, barely larger than a place mat. That said, the baby doesn't care and the soft vehicles are great for safe play. Everything packs small so this is a great plaything to take when traveling.

I bought this for my one year old grandson to take on vacation. It was great! Easy to pack up and carry, lots of cars to play with, the cars all make different noises, so it was very entertaining for him. Great for traveling.

The cars themselves are a major hit with my kids, especially my 1 year old and my 3 year old. The mat my 1yo doesn’t care about even slightly. My 3yo loves to put the cars back into the “bag” and haul it around. However, the velcro is weak and she gets very frustrated by it coming apart and spilling the toys. The absolute worst feature is the handle, which is velcro on one side instead of having both ends sewn on. So the slightest wrong move and the handle pops off. But it’s not fully removable either, and there is no alternate configuration to explain the velcro. This is a fine toy that bridges the gap between baby toy, toddler toy, and preschool toy. It would be great to take along to grandma’s house, etc. But it is not a good “travel toy” … I wouldn’t take this to a restaurant, waiting room, or anywhere in public where my children might wander around with it. It could be a good airplane toy, especially for a preschooler who likes to play with the town aspect. ... show more
