Nice colors, solid wood, worth the price, my son easily handled the pieces and put them back at 19 months. Its not heavy he can easily lift it up. Nothing bad to say about this puzzle. This is my first kid but I think I could have gotten him this puzzle at a younger age.

Love this puzzle with chunky knob handles. Only drawback is that the printed design doesn’t hold up to being gummed or chewed on by a teething little one! With supervision it is fine!! I’m sure grandson and I will enjoy for a long time!

The thick wooden puzzle came shrink wrapped and in perfect condition. My 1 year old grandson loves it! It is such a great learning puzzle because it teaches through a picture of the shapes. I almost didn't buy it because of the negative reviews on Amazon and decided to call Melissa and Doug company to find out if their superior quality had changed over time. The company informed me that the pictures on the puzzle piece are not painted; it's a picture with a high quality laminate on top. I decided to take a chance, and I am so happy I did. It is good to know from other reviewers that the puzzle pieces do not hold up to a long time in the mouth. (In my opinion, puzzle pieces shouldn't be used as a chew type of toy anyway.) My grandson prefers to put the knob in his mouth and it is reassuring to know that the knob is screwed not glued, so I don't have to worry about the knob coming off. My grandson did put the actual piece in his mouth for a few seconds and it did not fall apart. Since the puzzle piece is not a solid wood piece, I imagine if left in the mouth for a long time it could warp. At this age, I'm planning to use the puzzle with supervision anyway, so there won't be a chance for my grandson to use it as a chewing type toy. I highly recommend this puzzle. I also bought a Melissa and Doug transportation puzzle that I am going to save for when he is a little older. ... show more
