  • Cleared tub/shower drain in 10-15mins
Color: 25 FT w/ Auto Feed
I had a severe clog in the tub drain caused by hair of 3 females in our home. 6 inches of water at your feet when taking a shower; that kind of clog. The plastic 3 foot drain zips weren’t enough because the obstruction was much deeper than that. I used a drill /driver and went through the tub vent (after taking the cover off of course) because the actual drain had a four way strainer that I couldn’t remove. Follow the directions!!! Keep it 2-3 inches out of the drain while spinning to prevent the cable from twisting and rotate the device to get around corners. The wife had enough of the clog and so had I. I had tried drano multiple times with no luck. Within 10 minutes I had the clog cleared and didn’t think anything would be in the end of the bit. Boy was I wrong. I actually can’t wait to use it again. Well made, doesn’t feel cheap and IT WORKS. I recommend using a drill without question. For the price this thing is gold. ... show more

  • Easy to use, big savings by DIY!
Color: 35 FT w/ drum
First time buying and using a drain snake auger. I went with this one because of the mixture of price and features. This auger features a steel drum. While there could be potential rust issues with the steel I felt that the sturdier construction would be handy over plastic. The first thing I did was to remove the wingnut and it's mount and flip the pistol grip around so the finger groove is on the front. My favorite feature is the knob on the back has a nice flare to it to help grip it. That part in other snakes especially the plastic drum ones is just a little nub of a cylinder. The rounded flare on this one is key to holding it and operating. I found myself holding it with one hand by the knob and the other hand feeding the line. If it was just a little nub that would have been impossible. But with this knob it was secure even with wet gloves. Since it was my first time using a snake after watching a bunch of videos I decided to do it by hand and not use the drill attachment. If you are not careful when using it by hand you can run your finger into the drill attachment shaft. But it's easy to avoid so that isn't an issue once you learn to avoid it. This snakes head area is much longer and increases and decreases multiple times over the ones that are shorter and more of an open face coil design. I believe that this longer tighter head allows this snake to not get hung up as much and also get around corners better. In the videos I watched a lot of the other head designs would have trouble getting into even the first downward curve of the tub overflow. With this long head I was able to just bend it right in by hand. Make sure to use gloves and have plenty of paper towels and Clorox wipes on hand and a trash bag for the removed clog. When feeding in or out I kept a Clorox wipe in my feeding hand and cleaned it any time I backed it into the drum. With a little work and patience I was able to remove an unbelievable big, long clump of hair. Ran it twice more after removing the hair clog and cleaning off the coil. Both of the next 2 attempts came up clean. So the snake did an excellent job spiraling through and collecting it all. Again another great feature of the longer coil head this has. If you are having trouble removing the hair try bending the coils a little to remove the pressure in them but be careful as to not flick anything off. Plummers want like $400 in my area to run a snake or do a blowout! That's crazy! Take your time and learn how to do it right and anyone can do this by themselves and save time and money! It's already paid for itself with that one job and now it will hopefully last a lifetime! ... show more

  • Disappointing Experience with the MEISTERFAKTUR Drain Snake 4.0
Color: 25 FT w/ Auto Feed
My recent encounter with the MEISTERFAKTUR Drain Snake 4.0 proved to be nothing short of a disappointment. Despite its promising features and purported functionality, this plumbing snake failed to live up to even the most basic expectations, breaking down on its inaugural use. Upon receiving the MEISTERFAKTUR Drain Snake 4.0, I was initially optimistic about its auto-feeding mechanism and its touted suitability for sink plumbing. However, my enthusiasm quickly turned to frustration as the device faltered at the first hurdle. During its maiden voyage into the depths of my sink drain, the MEISTERFAKTUR Drain Snake 4.0 encountered unexpected resistance and promptly succumbed to the pressure, breaking apart with alarming ease. The plastic components, touted for their durability, proved shockingly flimsy and inadequate for the task at hand. Not only did the device fail to dislodge the clog, but it also left me with a broken tool and a sink still in dire need of attention. The auto-feeding mechanism, which should have facilitated smooth and effortless operation, proved to be more of a hindrance than a help. Rather than advancing the snake with precision and control, the mechanism jammed repeatedly, exacerbating the situation and adding to my frustration. What should have been a straightforward task turned into a futile exercise in troubleshooting and disappointment. Furthermore, the build quality of the MEISTERFAKTUR Drain Snake 4.0 leaves much to be desired. The materials used in its construction feel cheap and flimsy, lacking the sturdiness and resilience necessary for effective plumbing work. It is evident that corners were cut in the manufacturing process, resulting in a subpar product that falls short of its advertised capabilities. In addition to its lackluster performance, the MEISTERFAKTUR Drain Snake 4.0 also fails to inspire confidence in its longevity and reliability. If the device cannot withstand the rigors of a single use without breaking apart, how can consumers trust it to deliver lasting results over time? The answer is clear: they cannot. In conclusion, my experience with the MEISTERFAKTUR Drain Snake 4.0 was nothing short of disappointing. From its flimsy construction to its dysfunctional auto-feeding mechanism, this plumbing snake failed to deliver on its promises and left me with a sink still in need of repair. Save yourself the frustration and invest in a more reliable and robust alternative. ... show more

  • it works, strong enough
Color: 50 FT - 3/8 inch
I used it to unclog drain pipe, I got all 50 ft down the drain. I would make one suggestion, they say to put it in a bucket, I found that coil will tangle on itself as you spin it. so I made a support, see picture and put it on the support, as I spin down the coil, it will not get tangled. anyway, it is stronger than 1/4. after having worked with 1/4 and 3/8 drain snake, 3/8 is definitely better than 1/4. Next time I will try 1/2 drain snake. ... show more
