The first time I Wore the face paints paints, without using the mixing liquid, I ended up sweating some paint into my eyes and having my vision be blurry for the rest of the night. I was looking for a replacement for my old cake eyeliner sealer and came across this product. I was looking for an alternative to a standard eyeliner pen/pencil to apply my daughter's dance recital. She's 5 years old, has no experience having make up applied, and I have experience applying make up to others for theatrical purposes, but it's been a solid 20 years since that experience. As with most make up thinners or setting liquids, a little goes a long way. The container the Mehron Mixing Liquid comes in is a little inconvenient for mixing an application at a time, especially if you're not wanting to dip your brush in the bottle. I transferred the mixing liquid to a dropper bottle, place a drop on the back of my hand, dip the eyeliner brush in the liquid, then mix in dry eyeliner/eyeshadow powder. This seemed to work well. This liquid is a little thinner than others I've worked with, so less is more or it will run or make a translucent color. The pigment it creates is dark and deep when mixed correctly. It sets reasonably smudge-resistant within a minute or so. It withstood the tired eye-rubbing of a 5 yr old on recital night (no raccoon eyes!), if that gives you an indication of the setting power. TL/DR: The liquid mixes well, but is thinner than I expected. When mixed appropriately, pigments are deep, dark, and smudge resistant. Works well for creating eyeliner from eyeshadow or powder pigments. I don't like the container it comes in and prefer a dropper bottle for my application. ... show more

This is great for costuming and performance makeup. But, it also turns any eyeshadow into a highly pigmented liner or paint. A little goes a long way, and the bottle is big enough that it’ll last forever.

Great for airbrushed makeup- when used with their liquid body paint, Stays put , and is vibrant without being to thick to “cakey” and doesn’t chalk off on clothes ! It’s Lightweight, and a little goes along way with Airbrush. It also didn’t stain my skin and came off with makeup wipes and water/ washcloths ! It also held up even when water got on my skin for the most part! (Fades slightly but not completely ruined ! ) it dries fast and sets it with out chalking off ! ... show more
