This was a gift for an 8-year old girl and, being a unicorn fan, she liked it a lot. There are a lot of stickers, tape, pens, and doo-dads to keep a child occupied for hours. Will this last a year to serve as a diary? Not likely, but it does come with enough cute pieces to provide weeks of creative play before a kid invariably moves on to something else. My girls love to journal and any extra stickers, colors, add-ons that they can incorporate are always a win. This was a sweet little set to gift to my oldest daughter. She ended up sharing all the components with her sisters and they were able to make games and plenty of pretend activities with the pieces. My kiddo likes the journal but really appreciates all the other cutesy things that it comes with she can use to add personality and flare to it. Not sure why the ruler or glue stick are included, most of the stuff is stickers and what not but appreciate it nonetheless. It's a good value for the money and will get them interested in something other than gaming for a little bit. This pretty journal is an eleventh birthday gift for my dear friend's grand daughter. I had to open the package and see the journal and it is so lovely, I know she will be delighted with it. She helps my friend with her flower garden and learning all about plants, seeds, cuttings and all things gardening. This journal will allow her to put her wonderful times with her grannie on paper. There were a lot cute little bits and bobs that my granddaughter loved, like the washi tape and paper clips. Its a really cute little 'diary/scrapbook type of set with just enough to be creative but not so much to overwhelm. Great choice!
