I use the Charmin mega roll size. The roll fits perfect on the toilet roll holder and the little storage basket underneath holds three of those rolls. It seems pretty sturdy. Just don’t pick it up by the vertical bar because it will pop out.

Bought this product for our finished basement bathroom, but am temporarily using it in the master bathroom. Works well. Only complaint is the top hook slides into two tubes freely, so it can twist around somewhat freely with only a small amount of pressure. We needed a better solution for out at-hand toilet paper storage; we had to force the jumbo rolls into our old stand because it wasn't wide enough to handle them, and that, of course, made it difficult to get the rolls OUT of the old holder.
