I couldn't find anything to satisfy my needs for less than $1,000, but this lift chair I purchased for $760 (tax and delivery included). I weigh 210 lbs. and the medium-wide size gives me lots of "wiggle room" and is very comfortable. The "lift" mechanism works fine. It was relatively easy to assemble, and I've had no problems with it. There was one minor problem with delivery--Two of the three boxes came with the correct color, but the third box (containing the back of the chair) came in a different color. The company responded quickly to replace the part with the wrong color, so I have no complaints. I am especially pleased that this chair provides great value for what I paid. ... show more

I was pleased for several reasons: - easy to put together - firm construction so should hold up well - good value for the price - doesn't recline to a flat position but certainly far enough to make it comfortable for napping/sleeping if that's your thing (like mine!) UPDATE: 08/01/2022 Everything that was negative in my first post was graciously and very professionally fixed by McCombo chairs. Without me needing to ask, they sent me a replacement chair and arranged for a UPS pick up of the first chair, in its damaged box. I naturally offerd to retape the damaged box, which they wrote me back thanking me, and saying that they were very grateful for my efforts .They apologized multiple times for the damage. Their polite, friendly communications surprised me! Not many companies go to this extreme to be helpful, grateful and just nice! BRAVO McCOMBO!!! The replacement chair was delivered perfectly by UPS. It appears to me as if the first FedEx delivery might have been the cause for the extreme damage. The continutation with a different delivery serice, UPS delivery, was flawless as always! LOVE UPS! All dealings with McCombo has been very helpful and professional. Communication was always prompt, professional, and quite friendly. It was a pleasure communicating with a real live person, who went above and beyond, to make a bad situtation PERFECT! I will definately be a repeat customer as we continue to decorate our family room. McCombo proved to me how a QUALITY company respects and treats their customers. Sadly, this is NOT the case! This McCombo lift chair is to be a Birthday gift for my husband (06/13). He has had a very rough time lately after breaking hip. I thought this lift chair would make his life a little easier, less painful, and his birthday a little happier after his rough year. However, the box that was delivered looks like it didn't only come from the GARBAGE DUMP, but the BOTTOM of the GARBAGE DUMP!! The box is a disgusting, ripped up, piece of falling apart garbage, with pieces sticking out of it! The second box, which seems to be the backrest looks nice, but the main box containing the motor etc is all ripped and torn with pieces sticking out of it. I haven't totally opened the box yet. I'm fearful that there might be major pieces missing or damaged. I'm also worried that some critter might jump out of the box. It looks ripped, but also possibly chewed in places, with larger irregular shaped holes in the box. I would assume after spending this MUCH MONEY on a chair, that it would be delivered in good shape. How am I going to put a bow on a piece of ripped up garbage to wish my poor husband a Happy Birthday? Glad I didn't order a second chair for myself, as I had originally planned. Amazon, and the seller should be ashamed of sending out garbage to their loyal customers!!!! SHAME..SHAME...SHAME on Amazon, the seller, and also FedEx who dumped this pile of junk in our driveway without so much as ringing our bell. Our dog barked , and came and got me after hearing the FedEx truck. By the way, it had just started to rain, so without our wonderful dog alerting me of the delivery truck leaving, this mess would have been much worse, plus drenched! Glad it wasn't garbage day, or surely this pile of junk would have been mistaken for trash and hauled away to the dump, which is where it looks like it came from! I bought this for an older veitnam veteran that has trouble standing up from a sitting position and this was a life saver for him. The quality of the chair is great. It supports him as he stands up and actually lifts up high enough to where it almost stands him up itself without him even trying lol. It works great and it's pretty stiff not real padded but still comfortable. It was simple to put together and it was small enough to fit in his small living area.
