For those wondering, I put this on a metal/steel frame bed. This product seems to hold the bed well and feels sturdy, even with me and my 99lb golden retriever on the bed (I'm 180lbs). The slats fit the frame end to end, the slats are oriendted vertically. They have not shifted once the mattress (with its weight) was placed on top. All in all I think this was a smart purchase. Saved me a trip to the home improvement store and transporting awkward lumber. I bought this because I needed to remove my box spring to lower my bed so my dog doesn’t have to jump so high to get on and off if it. These do not stay in place on the rails of my platform bed. I had to actually have them screwed into the metal frame to keep my mattress from falling during the night.

This is so much better on a platform bed than a box spring or bucky board. If your bed has horizontal slats, get these vertical ones! Save your back.
