There are many dog leashes being sold across Amazon. It's hard picking which one you will ultimately buy. What you hope for is an honest review, which I promise you this is. What led me to purchasing this particular brand was the overwhelmingly positive reviews which gave me quite a bit of confidence in my decision. I also loved the fact there were many different color/style combinations to choose from. I took my dog on a long vacation. This leash did an exceptional job of keeping her in view and under control. The quality and thickness of the nylon are exceptional. This is a well-built leash. To top things off, the handle has enough ample padding so that you never feel anything but the softness and a firm grip beneath your hand. I walk my 150 lbs saint bernard using this leash and I feel in control. I especially like the padded handle as I often put the handle above my elbow in case the dog decides to bolt. He has a strong pull and so far there is NO fraying or damage to the leash in anyway.

As soon as I got these new dog leads I did a test and put 500 pounds of pull strength from end to end on these things and they did not break, even the clips held! I don't know any dog that can pull 500 pounds so I'm not worried about these breaking at all. They are high visibility and brightly colored so its easy to see. It's a low price leash, so, I'll try not to judge it too harshly but... It doesn't feel sturdy. I've had these rope style leashes before and this one feels like the outer sheathing is loose, like the inner part that gives a rope strength isn't all there. This is my biggest issue with it, my pup will be over 100 pounds as an adult and I'm not sure I'll trust this thing. I hate the cheap foam handle, so I cut it off right away and made the leash much more comfortable, to my taste. I always loop a leash through itself and then onto my wrist for security, and the foam was in the way. I didn't take any stars away for this though, as it's a personal preference thing and I knew that foam would be coming off when I ordered it. No big deal. The rubber bit that slides over the connection at the clip end is loose and free to slide up and down the leash, a little glue wouldn't hurt. It's cosmetic but it's a little annoying. Overall it's a fine looking leash that works as it should for a 45 pound puppy but as I said, I'm not certain it'll still be useful when he's a big adult. ... show more

My guy who is a doxie/poo is not big but loves to run and chace everything and once he does he does he struts and is so proud. He actually would be a good hunter. I had a retractable leash of 16' so he could run more because he has no yard to run in an paid fair money and after a little over a year in the middle of it, it started fraying badly. It was made for a bigger dog and he is only 12lbs. I live where there is a very busy street if this broke he would get killed because if he seen something fun to run after he would. My heart could not bare this ever happening. I got this. It is very heavy and if he did not wear a harrness it would be to heavy but not so with the harness and I can not see this ever breaking. I will get a extension so he can still run. I also have the best leash/harness is the world (no joke) RopeNGo but wanted one longer again. Little guys can wear/use this if they have a harness. ... show more

I've used this leash several times a day for the past few weeks and I really like it. It's sturdy, and the perfect length (6 ft) for my little guy. He weighs around 17 pounds and the rope has been strong enough to hold him back if he pulls/causes a scene when another dog is around. It’s also comfortable to hold when I need to give more or less slack. The only issue that I’ve noticed is that the foam piece that covers the bottom closure near the hook slides upward (second photo), but is easy to slide back into place (third photo). I’m not sure how much difference this makes in terms of overall effectiveness, but so far it doesn’t seem to be an issue. Definitely recommend! ... show more

Great leash. Only thing missing is a loop to clip the poop bag bone to. No biggie though, I clipped it to the handle. It doesn't stretch all that much but my dog is only 20 pounds and doesn't really pull at all do I cant comment on that. I like the cushioned handle although it isn't necessary. By comparison, I just bought a pink one for my female puppy from petco. Same length, it had a loop and no cushion. That one was 25.00 , this one was 9.99. No Brainer for me. ... show more

Overall it's a leash and it does its job. The clip is durable and has yet to go out on me, but I've only used it on a <10 lb puppy so it's not a valid test for clip strength. I like the handle if you want to have something easy and comfortable to hold on the walk. It's thick, so I'm not worried about it ripping from tension. The only small issue is that the black rubber? parts that are where the rope ends meet and near the handle, doesn't stay. I'll have to super glue it to prevent it from sliding around. It's the same for the handle as well, if you don't hold it right, the squishy handle part shifts around. For the record, this only occurred because I bunch the leash up (third picture) so the puppy can walk closer to me. I don't think it would happen as often or as easy as it would if you just use the full length. ... show more
