  • Never have to spill my purse again...or eggs...or soda...
I admit, I'm a horrible driver. Turn too fast, slam on the breaks, floor it....all of which has caused my purse to erupt and spew makeup, pens and other sundries all over the car. Some of which I'm certain my car eats and I never get back. No more. These little doo-hickies just slide right the bars of my adjustable headrest. I usually have them facing the windshield, but to avoid stabbin brave passengers in then neck, I occasionally twist them to the back. I was worried that they would be too flimsy to hold much weight, but not so. In fact, I usually use them individually, rather than hook the handle over both to distribute the weight. I've hung my heavy suede satchel, packed with a notebook, surface laptop w case, 2 good size books, ipad and some other odds and ends with no trouble. The hooks show no signs of bending. The handles of my personal bags are pretty wide (at 1.5-2 inches) and not very flexible, but the hooks give enough space so that I can still manage to get them in there. The length of the part of the hook that bends up is about 2 inches and gives you about an inch of space from back to front. They can also handle the padded handles of reuseable grocery bags. One picture is to demonstrate the ability to hold weight (I have the bag hardware hanging by just half of one hook and it's fine) and the other is to give an idea of the size of the hook. The strap of my bag is 1.5 inches. The hook could easily hold a couple of two liter sodas...or in my case a few of the super-size wine bottles (they're for a party, I swear.) What's not to love? ... show more

  • Works well -but beware with little ones
I really liked these hooks at first. I truly cannot stand the idea of my bag on the floor so I usually keep it on my passenger seat, however if someone has to sit there, they tend to try and place my purse on the floor (insert cringe). They are sturdy and they work well, however I have small children and twice there were occasions where these things became a hazard in my car. One incident where my 2 year old daughter was trying to get out of the car and her hair got snagged in one of the hooks, and another time where one of the hooks nearly took an eye out. Because of this, I had to remove them :(. I love the concept and idea but maybe a different style of hook mill work for me. I will also add that although they are sturdy, they do bend and tend to get out of shape (which is an easy fix) the prongs are what concern me the most. I will be on the look out for hooks that don't pose as a hazard for lil ones and hair. ... show more

  • Can't Believe I Didn't Know About These
Honestly, this thing is pretty good. You get two to a pack which is a decent value, then again, all it really is is some twisted metal. Easily fits around the headrest poles. Has little rubber bumpers on the ends so you won't stab yourself with sharp metal but also won't snag the handles of whatever straps you are putting on there. I didn't have an issue with the weight, I think the max is 10lbs, I use it for a small purse that weighs significantly less. The metal isn't super dinky like I figured it would be based on some reviews, it's sturdy enough, I think it could hold 8-10 lbs. I was tired of putting my purse in the passenger seat and sometimes having the contents spilled all over the floor, shifting with other items in the seat or having to find an accessible but out of the way spot with passengers. This is great in that I spin it around facing the front and put my purse on there and it is secure but also allows me to easily get chapstick while I'm driving if necessary. If I have a passenger, I just spin it around to the back of the seat and put the purse on there. Very convenient. My only complaint, and this is purse specific, is the depth of the hooks. My purse strap is kind of thick, about an inch, and leather. It doesn't fit into the hook as well as I would like but it still works. Also, and this is car and purse specific, the length of my strap is about a foot and it is able to hang from the hook with a few inches of clearance between it and the seat. If you have a cross body or a purse with a long strap it may not actually hang but still just sit in the seat with the strap around the hook if you had it facing the front. Think about your specific purpose but for the price, I think it's certainly worth a gamble. Glad I found this product. ... show more

  • Super handy - a couple of minor annoyances but I liked them enough to buy a second pack!
I liked these enough to buy another pack. I use one on the back of my seat for my daughter's coat (kids aren't supposed to wear coats in car seats - most of the time this is OK but I am not comfortable driving around in a Minnesota winter with no coat for my kid in case we have car problems so I just leave a coat and hats/gloves hanging in my car all of the time). I had the other on the passenger seat but facing toward the front - I hook my purse over that so that it doesn't go flying off the seat and dump my stuff all over the passenger foot well if I have to stop quickly. If I have a passenger I just swing it around to the back and ask my 3 year old not to kick mommy's purse :) I bought a second pack so I could have another on the back of my seat for the baby's bag to hang from. The only thing I don't love about them is that sometimes it's hard to get things off of them - they sort of hook back in and if you're trying to juggle a bunch of stuff it can be hard with one hand. (But that's probably the reason nothing ever falls off of them so it's worthwhile!) I think I saw someone else complain that they move too much but I have my headrests pushed all the way down and that seems to keep them in place. I could see where this could be frustrating if your headrest is higher. (If you're trying to wrestle a bag off the hook it's already difficult with one hand - if it starts moving around that'd be really tough.) Only other gripe is that my sweater got caught on one of the hooks when I tried to reach back for something else in the back seat. Thankfully my husband was there and untangled me or it would have been hard to get loose with my sweater intact and not pulled. ... show more
