I wanted a good set of LED lights for under our kitchen island. I like how these have the lights pretty dense. However, I was very disappointed as I started to remove the backing tape, that it started pulling off the adhesive with it as well. Only about half way down the strip did it finally release and remove correctly. Hard to explain in words, but basically half the strip I had to tape down as the adhesive back got pulled off with the thin layer of tape that is supposed to simply protect it. Update 1-16-21: Well, after about 6 months the beginning of the kitchen strip lost about 1/2 the brightness for the blue LED's so that section looks yellow now. Then last week we had a power outage and the power supply died, They were behind a surge protector so "shouldn't" have been an issue but apparently it was. As it turns out, having color in the kitchen is more of a gimmick for our house, so I'll be swapping to a pure white anyway. The one's in the office continue to work perfectly. Rating moved from 5 to 4. Still happy with the use I got out of them and would still recommend this brand. They are nice and bright for cabinet/desk lighting Original Review: My wife did some research pre-xmas and someone recommended these as better than what they had purchased. I am very picky about what I like and why. These, so far, have met my expectations. The LEDs are close together putting 300 for 16ft and 600 for 32ft, a plus. Many other brands only have half that. This set uses 24V for the 32ft set, which is smart. That pushes more voltage down the line to power all of the lights, even at the end of 32ft. There is no remote which I would have liked, just as a backup, but definitely not a negative. I used the Smart Life app and it picked them up in just a few seconds and was usable in about 10 seconds. The app has 2 sliders, one for the saturation and the other for brightness. The "cool white" is, in my opinion, a very pleasant color. It does not have that blue hue/hospital/sterile feeling. You can get a warmer light by selecting yellow as the color then adjusting the saturation down to 10-30% range depending on your taste. I have these lights in two places. Under my desk in my office, red is nice to play games to at night :) I installed the other set in the kitchen. I had some...fun...routing wires in between the cabinets but my son and I were able to successfully do it. There are some good YouTube videos on that topic so I won't waste your time. I have the lighting going under the cabinets as well as on the inner edge above the top counters. We have 9' ceilings so we have some extra space above the cabinets for decorations. It is awesome! Now I find myself walking around the house wondering where I could put MORE!!!!! Will be purchasing more in the near future. I will update this review if something goes south. ... show more

Ok, so I'm going on the fourth year using these for my carport. I'm surprised they lasted this long for Arizona climate. The only issue is the 4 pin connector from the module to the lights gets moisture in it and causes intermittent issues, color change and no light. This connector needs to be a sealed connector. Top quality led lights. The app although it takes a bit to set up once done you have complete control of the lights. I'm talking a brightnes slider and colour wheel to change the colour! A themes section to select a theme or create your own, personal fav is the "night light" theme. And you can make it flash with music! I havent stuck it to anything yet since I'm waiting to spruce up mah room but they don't overheat I've kinda had them on for 32 hours accidently in the roll it comes in and surprisingly enough not hot at all, slightly warm but kinda expected since it's rolled together and on for hours. Best thing is the transparent rubber or silicone thingy that covers the LEDs, most led strip's you buy for cheap have exposed LEDs so this is a big up and it doesn't hinder the brightness of the lights at all. Having tried many other LED lighting solutions I am still very satisfied with these Maxonar kits. The feel of the strips and the weatherproofing are top-notch. They are bright and durable. Wifi and Alexa sync works as advertised. Sadly, there is no included remote (not a huge issue for my applications), and the included power supply varies depending upon the length ordered. IMPORTANT: the 5M (~16ft) kits come with a 24VA (12V x 2A) power supply; the 10M (~33ft) ship with a 48 VA (24V x 2A) power supply. These two lengths are incompatible with one another. Most importantly, some kits arrive with different embedded resistors (see above). This results in being unable to connect multiple strips together as the colors will be different. For most applications this will not be an issue but if you need longer lengths or intend to join multiple strands, please, be wary of this issue. All in all, I'm still very happy with these and would highly recommend them for your next project! ... show more

The led works as intended, beautiful and easy to install. It’s bright enough for indoor use but a bit inadequate when using outdoor. There is a bigger problem. The power supply is not waterproof! Two weeks after installation the power supply blew out due to water leaked inside. What a shame!
