  • Great quality and cost efficient
Style: GX6021-Print, Scan,Copy and ADF
Bought this to replace an old Epson all-in-one that still worked well but shut done unexpectedly when it said the waste ink pads were full. You can buy the parts but then need a code from Epson to reset. I actually got a code (only works with Windows) but it still insisted I bring it in for authorized service. Obviously no more Epson products in my home! There are fewer ink tank printers out there than regular cartridge printers, but it is well worth the cost and effort to find an ink tank printer such as this. Instead of 12 - 30 ml of ink in a typical cartridge (of which some is always wasted), you get 132 ml of each color and 167 ml black ink included with the printer. You can also see the ink level and can refill whenever you want, so no more frantic late night trips to Staples when you have a report due the next day. Setup is easier than it sounds. My computers and printer are all connected via wifi and each computer connects on its own to the printer. You initially fill the 4 ink tanks (bottles make it fool-proof) then print a page that it uses to check alignment. The instructions then tell you to download a program from Canon, which I did for my first computer. However, I skipped that step for my other computers (all Macs), as well as my phone, and they were all able to find the printer and connect almost immediately without having to download any additional programs or drivers. The downloaded Canon program facilitates printing and scanning, but really does nothing different or better than what already comes on the Mac. As others have mentioned, you need to go into settings and disable auto-off, so that the printer is able to respond to print jobs wirelessly. This uses minimal energy – less than a typical nightlight. Quality is great. I would have no concerns about using this for making handouts that contain print and graphics for business meetings. I've only printed photos on plain paper so far but they are vibrant and look very good. This machine comes with all pigment (as opposed to dye) ink. Pigment ink tends to cost a bit more, but the ink already comes included with the printer. Pigment ink also is more durable and UV resistant, and much less resistant to water smearing. (The HP tank printer that I looked at only used pigment ink for black, but dye ink for colors.) I purposely tried to smear the output from this printer with water, and was very pleased with the result. Scanning quality is very good and works with my Mac natively. And as expected, copy quality is also very good. If you need to change any settings, the touchscreen on the printer is bright and easy to use. One additional benefit of this machine is the rear printer slot which you can use for thick card stock that would typically not work in the paper tray. Overall, an excellent printer. The initial cost is higher, but the much lower ink costs make this a bargain in the long run. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Canon for the WIN!
Style: GX2020-Print, Scan,Copy and ADF
I recently upgraded from an older HP printer to the Epson ET model, hoping for smoother printing and less hassle with ink cartridges. However, setting up the Epson was a nightmare - it took hours, I mean hours, (infuriating!) to get it connected to both my phone and iMac. It would print sporadically but then suddenly go "offline," even after trying with an ethernet connection. It's safe to say, I was frustrated! A printer setup should not be this complex. 🙂 BTW still waiting for support to get back to me. lol Enter Canon - and I must say, I am smitten! Setting up my Canon printer was a breeze, thanks to its intuitive design. It's been printing flawlessly ever since, with excellent speed to boot. I've become quite the fan and now proudly call myself a loyal Canon customer. Thank you, Canon! ... show more

  • Really good to Decent print jobs depending on media
Style: GX2020-Print, Scan,Copy and ADF
Hard time getting connected to internet. For some reason if you change all the settings to another media like photo paper it doesn't recognize and each time you have to push print with current paper. However does really good black and white plain paper prints, photo and sticker prints not as good at scanning photos or pictures as my old printer. Much faster than my old printer. Husband loves it constantly isn't saying low or out of ink. ... show more

  • VERY Easy Install - Menu driven from the color touch pad on printer
Style: GX2020-Print, Scan,Copy and ADF
Product, Canon GX 2020: For the record, I have no financial agreement nor inducements from Canon. I have never written a review of the hundreds of products that I have purchased from Amazon because I have come to expect quality from products as sold through the Amazon store using Prime. I have returned a number of products, free and easy, when the product did not suit my needs or was a bad fit. This is my first review due to the fact that I am overly impressed with the product and the software/hardware installation. 1. L.O.V.E.D the installation of this printer! Canon has given careful consideration to ease of installation. Unboxing was very simple, and much attention was paid to the packaging of this printer, from opening the box to setting up the printer. Once unboxed and plugged in, the installation was entirely menu driven by a pre-programmed process that is VERY easy to follow and easy to read from the color touch pad on the printer. 2. Product Quality. The Canon MegaTank ink system is great as it allows you, the consumer, to easily assess ink levels in the printer. Printers are relatively inexpensive these days, but the manufacturers make their money on the back end selling ink cartridges that are proprietary and engineered specifically for that particular printer model which forces the consumer into purchasing refills at ridiculous prices. Canon has set a new standard for the printer-ink dilemma with their MegaTank system. Ink levels are easily seen at a glance through windows on each of the colors, yellow, blue, magenta and black. The printer makes clean and crisp documents and the color is excellent by office-document standards. Don't expect every printed page with color to look like a high-res photograph, it won't on any office/home printer. The body of the printer has easy to follow graphic directions for trouble shooting processes (jammed paper, paper cartridge, etc.), a very nice customer-friendly feature. So far, so good. If I have any negative observations in the future about this printer I will amend this review to reflect the issue. ... show more
