I have bought this type of shelf before and was really happy with it, so I went with this brand because I needed 12 shelves. I really like it. Other reviews had me a bit nervous, but overall good! I was surprised at how short it was though. I'm 5'3 and it's a little over chest high. It comes with an awesome anchor. I haven't seen many shelves with an anchor kit, much less these cheap ones. It comes with 2, one for each side. I haven't anchored it yet because I haven't found it's permanent spot yet. You do have some extra to modify the style of the shelves. It comes with pretty good instructions on how to build and how to make each different style, including what will be left over from whatever style you pick. I homeschool, teach at church, and do crafts. I've put school books and 5 bibles on one shelf (we all know how heavy a Bible is) and it holds just fine. Definitely make sure to pack the bottom shelf heavy before you put anything heavy on top. It'll help keep it from tipping (which is true for any lightweight shelf), although I haven't stacked anything heavy on top so I haven't had any tip issues anyway. I really like how the shelves are wide enough for long bins. It's deep enough to hold regular size books and notebooks, but it is not tall enough for binders. I had to lay those sideways. So the individual bars aren't super strong, but keep in mind it's all about weight disbursement. All the bars together share the weight to hold anything you put on it. Just got it, took a little over an hour to assemble. Mostly because I'm short and had to get creative on some angles lol that cube I put in the space is one I have filled with hair dye, developers, tools, etc. The thing is sturdy. Comes with a small wood mallet. Use a real one, you'll thank me later. Super easy to put together, feels like the description isn't a lie. I'm expecting to properly hold 31 lbs per square and considering how much of each dowel is put into the holes, but also have 4 dowels under each cube, I'd say it'll be great! It's super lightweight, the whole thing came in a small box weighing only maybe 5 lbs. But it does its job! ... show more

I bought the twelve cubby unit to reorganize my bathroom storage. The space I had available fits two cubbies wide so I made it two cubbies by five cubbies tall. I originally wanted to make it six cubbies tall but didn't have enough pieces; please note that the twelve cubby unit only has 10 single sided "ends" and 10 double sided "ends" but it does come with pieces for an extra horizontal and vertical side panels. The unit assembled with 10 cubbies fit all the items I needed stored perfectly within the space I had available. I ordered a second twelve cubby unit to reorganize my closet and used the leftover pieces from the first unit in the second unit build. I currently have the closet unit organized as four cubbies wide on the bottom row, and two cubbies wide for rows two through five; this used all the "end" pieces but with spare side panels leftover. The instructions show several different configurations which can be made with the pieces provided. I recommend using gloves or the wooden mallet to press the metal side pieces into place in the "end" pieces, some of the metal pieces had sharp ends and could potentially cut your hands. The metal ends are not accessible when the unit is fully assembled, only during assembly. ... show more

I was looking for some lightweight shelving to place on top of the counter in my classroom to hold art supplies. I knew nothing would be too heavy, so I wasn't worried about that; but I was super impressed with how sturdy the shelving really is! Each shelf has 4 metal rods supporting the fabric "shelf". I loved the fact that I could customize the shelving to fit my needs, too. The 4x4 system was easily adaptable to make a 5x2 system, and I have enough pieces left over to make a small shelf unit by my desk! Assembly was super easy and quick. The unit is light but not flimsy. Much better deal than buying those particle board cubbies that weigh a ton. I am VERY happy with my purchase. I bought this item to use in my art classroom. My room is extremely small, doesn’t always have the best conditions, and so therefore I was looking for something affordable but also durable that could withstand the ceiling leaking or a kid bumping it or a chair hitting it - just basic things like that. I assembled the item today and while it will serve it’s purpose, it doesn’t seem to be nearly as stable as I would like. I believe once I weigh the item down with some books, that I may get some more stability out of it. However, I bent one of the metal poles used for assembly with my hand alone by accident while checking if the pole was secure. I’m glad I didn’t spend anymore money on this item than I did. ... show more

The number of parts were intimidating at first . Like most things after I figured out what was going on, it became a assembly line . A trick I found was to insert the outside two tubes on the horizontal shelf and then the two inner tubes and fabric . Be aware where you want the seams on the fabric . Don't hit or lean on a aluminum tube because it sure will collapse. I've only had the case together for a few hours and it's grown on me already . . . ... show more

I just started a job with a new business, and I needed some shelving for my space to display credentials and other creative items (I’m a Creative Director at a branding business!) and so far so good! It was really easy to put together, the instructions are so easy to follow, and it looks so clean when put together! I’ve already gotten quite a few compliments on it, and it’s by far the easiest shelving unit like this that I’ve ever put together!
