  • Very good, but not great
Size: 10X50
There are many things to like about these Maven 10x50's- excellent build quality, nice rubber armor, and good quality image for near to mid distance objects. The Mavens however fall short in long distance viewing- they just cannot resolve the image to my satisfaction. In addition, they have a field of view which is just too narrow and restrictive. Both of these were deal breakers for me. In addition, I am not a fan of the included soft cloth pouch- Maven should have included a case instead- even a simple one would provide more protection. Overall, a very nice set of binoculars which may be just fine in some situations. Their performance probably lines up with their mid-price, but they fall short of being excellent. I was hoping for more. ... show more

  • Extreme Clarity View Worth the Extra Weight
Size: 12X50
I did my research on all types of binoculars before making this pricy purchase. I was not disappointed. The extreme clarity is outstanding. I have only used them once since I purchased them at archery 3-D animal event and it was really nice to make out the scoring rings from 13 yards to as much as 70 yards on the targets. It was also nice to see were the arrow went into the target. They are not as light as my Nikon Pro 12X50, but worth the extra weight for the clarity. I purchased the hard case for storage, and purchase a breaded lanyard for archery. Recommend supporting privately owned business in the USA. ... show more

  • Get but not excellent
Size: 12X50
I own three other mavens and the binos all seem to have the same pros and cons, though their spotter is pretty much perfect as it is. This bino, like my 10x42, has great optical quality, sharpness, brightness etc., but has the same two issues of 1) the focus knob has a "stiction" to it. Once it moves its very smooth,, but it takes some force to get it to move in the first place. This means it takes two fingers at all times to get fast and/or accurate focus's. And in cold weather it gets worse (<40f) 2) Its difficult to simply raise these to your eyes and get a clean picture. You must fidget with them for a few seconds because they have to be perfectly square to your eyes and they must be an exact distance to your eyes, or you get side blurs. All in all i will still support Maven as they are a great company, i just wish they would field test these a bit more because these issues would pop up pretty quick. ... show more

  • Great Binoculars (I researched a lot)
Size: 10X50
I have been looking for a good general pair of binoculars for several months and eventually suffered from paralysis by analysis. In the end, I purchased the Maven C3 10X50 binoculars as part of the Black Friday deal. Let me just say, that I am not disappointed at all. I considered different brands and magnifications, but ultimately I wanted something to also gaze at the moon. Indeed, this model fits the bill for all aspects of what I wanted to use them for. The construction and quality of these binoculars are quite high. I really wanted something with good clarity and these do not disappoint. My eyes are aging, but I had no problem with the FOV or eye relief. I was quite impressed with the ease of use which was very important for me. Yes, gazing at the moon is quite impressive for general viewing. Obviously, a high magnification would be needed for in depth detail, but I wanted something that my shaky hands could still use. Great purchase and Maven binoculars do live up to all the hype. I may consider another pair in the future. ... show more

  • Worth every penny
Size: 10X50
After reading and watching every review I could find on these binoculars, I finally pulled the trigger on the C.3 10x50. Vortex was the only other I looked at in this price range and the equal is a little more money. Maven either sells them on their web site or here, and that saves the middle man. Bass Pro and such have to make a profit so the price comes up. No you can't try them out in the store but you can do a loaner program on their site, sort of "Try before you buy". Bottom line is great quality build, and I have the lower end model but feel like it's the top end. All quality materials used. The vision is stellar and so crisp. I would have popped for the B series but I just use them for target/3d, not hunting. Great company, give them a try. ... show more

  • Very nice quality. Very impressed.
Size: 10X50
I bought these for western deer and elk hunting and had a pair Vortex Diamondbacks, which were a good value for the money. I gave them to my son, who didn’t have any and bought the Maven C3 10X 50. I’m very impressed with the quality of the Mavens. Great image quality and light transmission. I’d say, one would be hard pressed to find a better pair in that price range. Many people compare them to units that cost 2,000 plus, but that’s maybe not a fair comparison. ... show more
