  • Great Binoculars
Size: 10x42
I bought these Binoculars for my wife who is an amateur photographer and bird watcher. We had friends who owned them. One was a retired game warden and the other an avid hunter with the range finder edition. She picked up the game wardens and was so impressed I pretty much knew she needed a pair. I asked him how long he had owned them and he said 15 years. I know these are expensive but there is no doubt in my mind that these are the finest binoculars made and will last a life time. If you can see your way to buy a pair you won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • THE BEST Binoculars I have ever looked through!
Size: 8.5x42
I bought these binoculars as a present for my wife. We are avid outdoors people, birders and hunters and appreciate the clarity, functionality, and quality of these top shelf binoculars. The engineers at Swarovski though of everything in designing and producing these binoculars. Everything is smooth and tight from the eyepiece adjustments to the focus nob to the hinge. The carry strap system is highly engineered, but simple and secure. And the ergonomics are exceptional. My wife absolutely overs them and we are looking forward to using them on future birding adventures. They are expensive, but worth every penny! ... show more

  • At last, I can bird without shame
Size: 8.5x42
I have been lusting after a pair of these forever. As all birders will tell you, when you meet a fellow birder, they will look down at your torso and not at your face. Yes, we all judge each other on our bins and you are lying if you claim you don't. Now, with my classic Swarovskis, I can bird without shame. They are also amazing bins, of course. They are incredibly sharp and bright. No "irritating" rings or outlines to be found (as the very German manual describes it). The focus mechanism is smooth and your settings stay in place. They are so so much better than my old Nikon Monarchs, although I couldn't tell you how these fare against other expensive bins. However, as practically every guide and serious birder has these hanging from their neck, it's hard to imagine how you could go wrong. They are heavy so you will want a proper harness vs. the neck strap. Also, they don't come with a protective carrying case, which I found super odd considering how much they cost. Swarovskis sell cases for like $100 which is obscene so I ended up buying a case (Ekeskey 50mm) on Amazon for $15 which is perfect for protection if you tend to just toss your bins into your backpack as I do. ... show more

  • Spectacular Optics with a design flaw
Size: 10x42
Let’s get this out of the way first. The optics in these binoculars are fabulous. Immense light gathering capabilities, incredible clarity, excellent color representation.. The image correction or Swarovision, is noticeable but not the most incredible feature of these binoculars.. Jaded optics enthusiasts pick these up and acknowledge their superior quality. Unfortunately they have a major design flaw in their eye relief adjustment mechanism. If you don’t adjust your eye relief to the level closest to the body of the camera and tighten it, it may eventually loosen up and pop off when you pull off the lens cover. This happened to me on a dusty roadside and I had to spend 20 minutes cleaning every speck of dirt out of it with a toothbrush before I could reassemble it. I’d suggest making sure the eye relief is secure every time you take these binocs out. One other nit: They are heavy. I’m assuming the Swarovision image correction adds more glass to the build. Whatever it is they are heavy. Don’t let either of these issues deter you. This size of this brand is optimal. I’ve had these out birding a dozen times since new and I’m seeing things other birders are missing. If you are a birdwatcher, buy them. ... show more
